I had to go for slightly-humorous crack. I hope that works!

When Sokka got sick, he tended to get very, very whiny. By the end of his first day stuck with the fever, all of his traveling companions were ready to throttle him. But they really couldn't--he was sick. He couldn't help it. It wasn't totally his fault.

So they bit their lips for most of the day and breathed a sigh of relief when he finally fell asleep, curled in his sleeping pack beside the campfire. They couldn't fault him for being under the weather, but the constant complaining about how awful he felt was really old.

Aang sighed and leaned back to look at the stars. As he did so, his eyes passed over Sokka...and noticed something odd. "Hey, what's that?" he murmured, crawling towards the sleeping boy.

"What's what?" Toph asked with her usual lack of interest.

There was a moment of quiet before the Avatar laughed. "You guys...he has a teddy bear."

Suddenly, Toph was a lot more interested. "He what?"

Katara chuckled. "I thought he brought that with him...he's had it since he was a baby. Has trouble sleeping without it." She rose and walked over to stand beside Aang. "He's surprisingly protective of it, too."

"How sweet," Toph sneered with a laugh.

"Want to see something funny?" Katara grinned, looking only slightly evil. She reached down and took hold of the bear's arm and began to carefully pull the stuffed toy from Sokka's possessive arms.

She nearly had it free when Sokka started flailing. "Mama!" he half-whimpered. "Please don't take my toy..."

While the others bit back laughter, she returned the bear. "All right."

"Hmm...thank you..."
