All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...
...well, except for my mp3 player. I plugged that in for charging purposes. Otherwise, yes, ready to go.
We're leaving in about half an hour to head over to Eastern Iowa. It's a five-hour drive. Packing my DS, my Neo, and my mp3 player. That will keep me entertained for all ten hours, plus the time at the hotel, guaranteed or NO MONEY BACK. It's sort of amusing to compare how I pack for car trips now versus as a kid, where I would insist on bringing pretty much everything I owned, and playing with all of it in the first ten minutes.
Bug and I get a separate hotel room from the parents. This is after Mom asked how we felt about it. I replied, "I really prefer having my own bed." Bug replied, "If I touch feet, I freak." So we're on our own. Which will probably consist of her on her laptop and me doing my thing. That's just the way we do things.
The funeral is at ten-thirty tomorrow morning. We'll be driving back tomorrow night after it's all over. I'll probably have a more comprehensive post then, if I am still conscious. And then I work on Tuesday.
...I feel very calm right now, to be honest. Almost on the happy side. I don't know why, exactly. Tomorrow will bring tears, though. The Candy is an emotional person, and I always cry at funerals. Always.
I have my phone, if anyone would like to text me. Otherwise, I'll see you all tomorrow night.
