I'm going to reply to comments soon, guys. I promise. But since I got home I've been battling a heat-induced headache that actually had me flat on my back for about half an hour. Most assuredly not cool--sort of been alternatingly here and wandering away from my computer.

Anyway, it's been a while since I spammed you guys with a random, pointless poll. The deal this time? I somehow got it into my head that I want to try writing a reeeeeeeeeally hot ~~though probably totally unrealistic~~ make-out scene! The thing is that the plunnies will not tell me who it is that's doing the making out. So...I leave it to any of you who care!

Okay, point. You, uh. Kinda have to fill in the blanks. He's over-protective, samurai-like, doesn't approve of my taste in clothing, always misunderstands my ~~cryptic~~ messages, but underneath it all is sweet and maybe slightly gruff and wonderful? And also speaks simply. [/gushing]

Sitting in my player's brainpan for the moment. Apparently Makoto-san and I have another one of our misunderstandings, and then he kinda goes overboard in interpreting the spirit rather than the letter of what I say/said, and uh. Yeah. I enjoy it? And it has a follow-up lemon in which Makoto-san is all awkward and embarrassed about it, and so am I, and he feels a little guilty 'cuz he doesn't know really how I feel about it, and I don't know how to tell him I liked it, and... yeah.

Damned if we know. She's thought about multiple couples, and can come up with pros and cons for all of 'em, but this comment is getting long as it is.

LIST TIME, because it is Easier.

* Sonoko/Makoto was first to come to mind; I immediately thought it wouldn't work though, because they'd be too uncomfortable with it. And then it occurred to me that Sonoko might go overboard with bravado and pretending she's more confident about things than she is, and might attempt it, but uh. Given Makoto, there's no guarantee it would succeed.

* Heiji/Kazuha was next, since they've got about the right dynamic/adventuresome-ness, but I have no idea how it would come up, and they're already so blockheaded/shy about the relationship thing in the first place (Heiji more so than Kazuha) that it'd have to be set somewhere/somewhen they'd gotten by that.

* Ran/Shin'ichi seemed the obvious choice after that, since their relationship is practically only through the phone anyway, but there's Shin'ichi's current apparent age issue? Er, maybe if he was back to normal or was hitting puberty as Conan or something. And what if he lost the bow-tie part way through...?

* Satou/Takagi would be kinda hot, and I could definitely see her attempting it. Still, there's things like workplace/environment to worry about, as well as hoping Takagi wouldn't pass out the first time she tried it.

* ...Haven't actually thought about it for the Magic Kaito characters yet, but unless it involves Kid vocally molesting Hakuba or something, I don't know that I see it happening yet? Also, it's a little hard to pin Akako down to a relationship with what little we're given in canon.

In short, I DON'T KNOW, you figure it out!

...okay, I have to ask--how in the blazes do you manage to hook up Heiji and Sonoko? Most of my OTPs are relatively canon--I take a certain amount of pride in being (to my knowledge) the only regular Yuusaky/Yukiko writer in the fandom. They're canon, but they're certainly not as popular as, say, Shinichi and Ran.

You should do something makeout-tastic for... um... brawr.

I've seen a fair number of Sonoko/SHINICHI fics (which is one of the few pairings that just makes me shudder no matter what), but never Sonoko/Heiji. I know Sonoko fangirled over Heiji for a while, though...I would almost like to see that, just to see how it would work.

Considering part of my objective at the time involved attempting to make you write Makoto/Sonoko, I'm not surprised it topped my list XD

Having slept, my mind is now clearer, and while I can see Kaito making the call, I can only see Aoko figuring out what it is half-way through the damn thing and then attempting to verbally take a mop to his head. (Kaito's only response would be to snicker.) ...Also, it appears that I am now having difficulty picturing the Magic Kaito people in anything other than a foursome ~~for some reason~~ o_O

Yeah, I. I really don't know how I would feel about that being set in the series. If it was really, really ambiguous and we didn't actually get the idea that Conan was, uh, physically getting off on the phone convo, I could see it squicking less. But. That's still... kinda awkward. Also, Ran would so bully him into it, but it would be in the weepy "I-never-see-you-and-I-just-want-to-be-closer-to-you" sort of way that involves minor guilt on Shin'ichi's part and stuff.

I think the Shinichi/Ran idea might be better-suited to a post-series thing, just avoid as much potential squick as possible. Although I do agree--it would be sort of amusing to see Ran bully him into that kind of conversation. "But Shinichi...I'm so lonely..." *snerk*

I would be willing to settle for Sonoko-centric where she spends most of the fic missing Makoto (or pretending not to miss him, either way), and then gets a letter or a package from him or something.

I see where you're coming from, but that would have to be a damn special mood for her to pull that off. I could see her turning Kaito down and then later feeling guilty about it and propositioning him herself, though.

See, here's the problem. Now I have a plunny for the nearly-during-canon version. And it has a beginning, and an ending, and now all it needs is the filling in the middle. And then I get to write about Conan glaring at his (very flat, still comfortable) pants and muttering about how much he misses puberty some days.

(Well, he's scarred as far as life experiences go, I guess? And in regards to how he veiws society and stuff. But he's not yet messed up really good in regards to his parents and their love life. I don't know if he's even put two and two together that they have a love life yet, genius detective or not. I mean, how many of us are comfortable with the idea of our parents having sex by the time we turn seventeen? ~~It didn't, to the best of my knowledge, but I'm sorely tempted to write it now.~~ *glaaaaares at them*

Not that I'll stop you if you feel like writing it yourself, of course ;) But yeah, she's probably have to be frustrated with the number of surprises Kaito had pulled on her - or be more relaxed in general - before responding immediately, IMHO.

Maybe I should make a challenge of it. And Shin'ichi and Ran always so separated and spend so much time apart and so much of their relationship on the phone, it's practically a threesome with a piece of technology. ~~KEEP THE CELL PHONE ON VIBRATE 8DDD~~

Compromise: I'll add the Conan scene as an "extra" bit, keep it to my journal, and white it out with warnings; the Ran part should be able to stand on its own anyway, and I'll keep the timeline ambiguous as I can. Which problem, the having a pants problem, or the not having a pants problem problem? In the case of the latter, he is pretty much of-age mentally, regardless of physical appearance, and he's gone through puberty already, so he should know the basics. In the case of the former, uh. W-well. Six-year-olds have been known to have erections. Which is creepy to think about in all sorts of ways, actually, so I'll stop now.

(Probably, yeah. Actually, by this point in time, he could be completely sheltered from it and just Not Want to Think About It, or I could also picture him being over-exposed to it almost.
