Meme time!

First, because [livejournal.com profile] ran_mouri82 asked me so nicely...

...well, I did make them myself ^__^ Also, let it be known that knitting with uber-fuzzy yarn is rather difficult >.>;;

And now, a meme...which I will probably regret doing, but oh well!

I'll do a drabble request only for the people who friended me! Just post a pairing (one I know!), genre, rating, and prompt.

...and let it be known that I reserve my right as the Almighty Authoress to take any Conan drabbles that might turn out uber-smurfy and somehow wrangle them into my challenge for [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100. Or any other theme comm I am doing. Because I am insane. And a theme comm whore. That is all.

Oh, cute! The colours are gorgeous!

You'll probabably get a million drabble requests, and Strawberrychan already asked for what I would have suggested anyway, so I'll just read hers when you post it. XD

[identity profile] candy--chan.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, thank you!! :D

...which one of her prompts? She technically made two requests ^^;;

I was referring to "sex" or "washcloths."

Which could technically be used together, now that I think about it! *shot*

Thank you! ♥

*readies smiting tool for the purposes of using it on Jeva*

It can almost be called the Annoyance Theory. The old adage goes that if you want an irritant to go away, you simply have to ignore them. They might throw even more of a tantrum, but if you refuse to give them your attention, eventually they will tire of it and find other ways to entertain themselves.

Kaitou Kid, the illustrious Phantom Thief, folded his arms and studied the young man leaning against the railing that ran the perimeter of the skyscraper's roof. He'd gotten there and found one of his favorite rivals waiting for him.

This was almost to be expected, and he'd prepared a few new zingers for the verbal banter that was undoubtedly going to occur before he made his getaway. But he wasn't quite prepared to be...

Ignored.

Flat-out ignored--like he wasn't even there, or he was completely invisible. No witty banter, no threats of catching him another time, no insistence that he give up and surrender to arrest. Zilch. Insult was added to injury when Kudo fished a book out of his pocket and started reading.

For one such as Kid, who essentially thrived on being the center of attention, this was not an acceptable state of affairs! He knew he had enough of a lead that he could stay and play for a few minutes before the police would catch up. He sincerely hoped they enjoyed the little present he'd left on the stairs for them--it was amazing, the things one could do with silly putty and a few coat hangers, really.

Ten minutes later, Kudo had turned six pages, and Kid was running out of ideas--yet another rare occurrence. This only added to his increasingly bad temper over the whole affair. He sensed that there was some sort of a battle going on here, and he did not like the fact that he seemed to be losing. But Kudo hadn't reacted to anything!

Finally, Kid did the only thing he could think of--the one thing he was sure the Great Stone-Face couldn't possibly keep up a facade against. He reached out with both hands and grabbed Kudo's cheeks--his facial ones, the other ones were pressed against a railing and thus not available for immediate grope-age.

To Kudo's credit, his expression didn't change a whit when he was grabbed. But his mask shattered into shock and alarm when Kid pounced. "Kissu kissu!"

There wasn't time to move away, and Shinichi found himself faced with a sizable choice: continue the rather unorthodox kiss...or flip backwards over the railing and plumment to his death on the pavement below.

After a few seconds of wavering back and forth, he decided that death really wasn't an option, and stayed put.

...and he was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't the worst kiss of his life, either.

It was Kid who ended the kiss--not that Shinichi had much of a choice, as he was walled...or railed, as the case may be. The Phantom Thief lingered a moment longer before suddenly stepping back. "What was that all about?" he asked, shoving gloved hands into pockets.

"You did exactly what I thought you would do."

"Which was?"

"Throw a tantrum."

"I did not."

"So putting a pigeon on my head and sticking roses in my ears wasn't a tantrum? Then what was it?"

"Interpretive art. And there are the police. Ja ne, tantei-san!"

In a flourish of white cape and rose petals, he was gone. Off the roof, Shinichi assumed--that was the usual M.O. when it came to escape. And for once, Shinichi found himself not minding that Kid had gotten away.

*laughing with glee* Perfect! I love! *glomps ficcy~~!*

[identity profile] insaneladybug.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
**snerk.** I wasn't going to read this one, but LOL. I love how you made it so nicely vague to snugly fit into canon. He did it to get attention! Priceless. And what did he do with silly putty and coat hangers? XD

And at the end ... "Interpretive art." LOL. I love the mental image of Shinichi standing there reading a book, with a pigeon on his head and roses sticking out of his ears. That's ... just priceless.

[identity profile] insaneladybug.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Wow! Those washcloths are really awesome! I just love the colors. Gorgeous! X3 I can tell a lot of work was put into them.

As for the drabbles, hmm. I pose to you the same question that I did to RanMouri. XD Do you accept friendship pairings as well as romantic ones?

[identity profile] candy--chan.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! :D :D :D *holds up fuzzy scarf that is next project* Knitting is fun!

Absolutely...so long as you don't mind the resulting drabble (since I assume I won't miss my guess here) winding up as, oh, say, a fic for [livejournal.com profile] 30_evil_deeds? :D?

[identity profile] insaneladybug.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yay knitting! I tried crochet once and liked it. X3 And I think I still have Sabrina's crochet needle thingie around here. @___@ Oopsie.

Nope, don't mind! XD

So yes, I would like something with Gin and Vodka, please. =3 Drama, with some nice angst. Rating ... PG/PG-13.... Prompt: Artificial respiration.

He reached out with both hands and grabbed Kudo's cheeks--his facial ones, the other ones were pressed against a railing and thus not available for immediate grope-age.

Oh, I love this line! However, I nearly choked on my hot tea.

So... if said "other cheeks" were available to be groped, would KID take that chance? :D

I went for the second one (sort of) because the mental image was just too awesome to resist. And with your permission, I might expand on this idea a bit and use it for a Nights fic? *hopeful look*

When Aoko went upstairs to her room and found Kaitou Kid lounging on her windowsill...well, to say she was surprised would be an understatement, and do no justice at all to her shock.

She was even more startled to see what he was holding. The items in his hands were neither cards, nor card gun, nor any sort of heist trophy...but seemed to be knitting needles.

She stared at him for a while, knowing that he had to be aware of her presence, before speaking. "What are you doing here?" It seemed the obvious question...yet somehow still so silly.

Finally, he turned his head and actually acknowledged that she was there. He raised his hands a bit more, allowing her a better view of the long needles he held. "Knitting. Have you ever tried it, Nakamori-san? It's quite relaxing." He turned his head again and bent over his work.

The room was silent for a moment, save for the soft clicking of the needles as he manipulated them between his hands to coax a cloth of sorts from mere yarn.

Aoko watched silently, uncertain of what to do. Her father wasn't home yet, and he'd be long gone before she could get to a phone. There really wasn't much else she could do...but watch.

So she did, studying his form carefully. It was a strange little paradox, to see the infamous thief, International Criminal 1412, one of the most wanted men alive...sitting on her window, doing something that most people associated with their grandmothers. Her eyes traced slowly over his outline--the hat-brim cast a shadow, keeping her from truly seeing his face--but she did see that his expression was different from the smug smirk he always wore as he danced around the Taskforce.

He was smiling--Kid wasn't Kid without the smile--but it was softer, more of a half-smile than anything, the look of one who is proud of his work. There was no magic, save for what was appearing from the needles.

He looked...calm. Peaceful.

It was strange.

"You have questions." She nearly jumped when he spoke, and shook herself as she realized that she'd fallen into his trap--that presence he had about him was hypnotic in and of itself.

"Why are you here?" she asked, sitting down on her bed. It was amazing how at ease she felt--still, she knew on every level that he wouldn't hurt her. That was one of the few points she would grudgingly give the thief.

"Just catching my breath," he replied easily. "Do you wish me gone?"

"...what are you making?"

"A present."

"For who?"

"Someone very special."

"A girl?"

"Perhaps."

"You have a girlfriend. Your fanclub will be crushed."

"I don't, actually."

"Boyfriend?"

"Nein."

"Why are you knitting?"

"Because it's relaxing. Even we Phantom Thieves need to unwind after a hard night's work."

Aoko snorted, but didn't respond beyond that. Instead, she returned to simply watching. Again, she started to feel that strange hypnotic wave rush over her as she watched his hands move...strange how calm she felt...

She needed to catch him for her father, though...

TBC in...the next comment...

And now, ze conclusion!

When Aoko next opened her eyes, there was sunlight in pools on the floor.

It took her a moment to realize where she was and what had happened exactly. But when she did, she sat upright and took a quick inventory. She was still in the clothes she'd worn the night before. Her hair was a mess...

But most importantly, Kid had vanished. Escaped once again.

She felt like a fool--she'd fallen under his spell, just like all those damned screaming fangirls...

Sighing, Aoko rolled out of bed and stretched, trying to decide what to do first. But as she looked around, she noticed that the window was still just slightly ajar. Grumbling about phantom thieves and manners and the former's complete lack of the latter, she crossed the room to remedy the situation...

...only to find something wedged under the window, keeping it from closing all the way. Curious, she eased the item--a rectangular box--from under the window and closed it the rest of the way.

She studied the box carefully, but found nothing amiss. Taking a deep breath, she lifted the lid and peered inside...and found some sort of blue fabric staring back at her.

No...not blue fabric.

Aoko lifed it from the box, and belatedly realized what it was--a long fuzzy blue scarf. But she was distracted by a small piece of paper inside the box. Draping the gift--for that's obviously what it was--around her shoulders, she read...

I said it was for someone special, didn't I?

...pleeeeeeeeease can I use this for Nights? *puppy dog eyes*

[identity profile] candy--chan.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
YAY!! I is glad you like it!

*sneakily plots to sneakily post this over on [livejournal.com profile] dc_yaoi...sneakily*

[identity profile] candy--chan.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
You should've seen the look on my face when my first drabble request was THAT. Pretty sure it was all bug-eyed and jaw-droppy *laugh* Thank you, though! I'm glad you liked it :D

...I would honestly love it if someone could draw that last scene =P And Kid won't tell me what exactly he did with silly putty and coat hangers. How rude of him!

[identity profile] candy--chan.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
*giggle* Thank ya kindly! :D I like that line too *holds up own horn and goes toot toot* But please to not be choking...that would make me sad if you did !

*looks at Kid* He's...trying to distract me with something shiny so he can avoid the question. I think that's your answer right there ^_~

[identity profile] jeva-chan.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oi, oi. It was a perfectly fine drabble request.
