We keep checking things off the list of things to do before I'm done! Here's how we stand at the moment in terms of finished classes:

Classroom Management
Piano jury
Vocal jury
Music History and Lit
Conducting II
Creative Writing

First of all, I'd like to say FUCK PIANO. I got so nervous going into that jury and my hands were shaking so bad that I couldn't keep my fingers on the freakin' keys. My grade for it is already up. Yeah--my mood's officially dead. Fuck you, piano. Fuck you.

The vocal jury went well, though. I didn't mess up my words *squees* And I think I made myself into the joke of the music faculty, though. Jerry asked me what opera one of my pieces, called "When I Am Laid in Earth," is from, and I told him Dido and something-that-starts-with-an-A-but-I-can't-remember-how-to-pronounce-it. Then he said that there were two parts to the song--what were their structures? It took me a sec to realize what he was asking. I said that the first part was a recitative...except I pronounced it wrong--I said "re-SIH-ta-tive" instead of "re-seh-si-TEEV." Apparently, that's very funny. I did correctly name the second part as an aria, though. Silly professors!!

Also, the Music History final was...not exactly a pleasant experience. I'd been so busy prepping for juries (or trying to, I should say) that I hadn't studied for it as much as I should have. Yeah...it needed to die. I circled the questions I didn't know to come back to them later; there were three of them. I felt a bit better when I was turning mine in and saw another person in the class had circled the same questions I had. So I wasn't the only one who was drawing a blank. Bah humbug.

I think I'm having a rough semester...and I still have to get through this Conducting final. Ugh...but once that's done, the semester is over in terms of classes. Creative Writing consists of walking in, getting our portfolios, getting our compilations, saying goodbye, and walking out.

But on a brighter note for anyone interested, the Hooray I'm Going to Europe post is lookin' good. And [livejournal.com profile] magic_truth, I am updating WYW4, now put down that stick! =P Just shy of 21,000 words. And then I'm off to see the world!

FINALLY!!!

Well, I'm done with my tests. Whee!! Life is...all right, I s'pose.

That Conducting final was a JOKE! Honestly, that was ridiculous. If I hadn't had to wait to do my individual conducting, singing, and playing, I would have been outta there in probably fifteen minutes or less. It was insanely easy, my second favorite kind of final--my favorite is the non-existent final, of course ^___^

Tomorrow, I have my Creative Writing final...which is "walk in, get my short story, get my portfolio, get my compilation, say goodbye, walk out." That's my favorite kind of final, right there *grin* Then I get to hang out in the main lounge for check-outs, skip out for traffic duty at one, go to a quick choir rehearsal at two, and then back to the dorm. We're there until six, and then...MY LAST DUTY NIGHT OF THE SEMESTER!!!

Got my grade back on my big portfolio piece for Classroom Management. I GOT AN A!! Whew...and I saw on Connected Learning that I got a 91% on the final, which is awesome--that was the one I nearly missed because my alarm clock died. There was only one question that I was completely blank on, so I must have BS-ed something right!

Otherwise...yeah. The next chapter of The New World, aka "the CCS fic I update about once every six months because I refuse to just let it die, dammit" is nearing completion. I got going on it, and the first five pages really wrote themselves. Now I just have to finish and post it. Not as long as the last chapter (sorry, no twenty-pagers this time around), but it's a chapter!

Time to curl up in bed. YAY! Catch y'all later ^_^
