I'm back!! *does a happy jig*
Kansas City was freakin' AWESOME! It was great to hang out with Torbo and Paula! I was uber-tired all weekend (slept a lot in the car), but we had a great time =D I spent a lot more money than I probably should have, but oh well, whatever! *munches on Jelly Belly jelly beans* Hmmm...juicy pear...
The drive kinda sucked, not gonna lie. We're talking close to six hours behind the wheel each way. The last two hours of the drive there were in the dark (I'm not really even huge on night-driving in familiar areas!), and perhaps the first half of the drive back was in a nice big rainstorm. Visibility was crap in both cases...but I made it safely, and am relieved to be sitting on something that isn't moving at seventy MPH! *snuggles into bed*
And I've discovered that I love listening to country music while I drive. Anyone heard the song "I Loved Her First" by Heartland? Anybody have the mp3 and want to share?
Oh oh oh! And check out the dresses we picked!! That's the design, will be in silver--the wedding colors are blue and silver. The best part is that the little thing around the waist? It hides *ahem* tummies...I'm sort of the biggest of the bridesmaids *slightly self-conscious* Plus, there was this hook thing in the back, and when Torie hooked it, I looked in the mirror and went ZOMG! CURVES!
Also got a candle-warmer and a candle for it--now my room shall smell like vanilla frosting! YUMMY!
The only real downer of the weekend? Turns out they have to postpone the wedding. It was supposed to be January twenty-seventh, which worked out perfectly for me because I have my student teaching meeting on January twenty-ninth, and then start student teaching on the thirtieth. But the groom's grandfather was just given ninety days to live...exactly ninety days before the wedding. So they're postponing the wedding because of it. I just asked Torie to let me know ASAP when the new date is, so I can get myself arranged--once I'm student teaching, my schedule is no longer mine, per se. But we'll work it out!
And I have about seventy-five percent of my homework done, so I'm relaxing for a little bit and watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. This is such a feel-good show...I always cry when I watch it... *is a sissy*
BTW...did someone call my cell phone while I was in KC? I had a missed call from a number I didn't recognize, and I have this little phone phobia about calling people I don't know, so I haven't called back...
Anyhoo, great to be back--back online, and ready to rock!
PS. Oh, and I also got a slinky redcleavage shirt AND the new Nancy Drew game, Creature of Kapu Cave. No fics until I'm done with it! *will continue playing after Home Makeover*
