Just got back from a really neat presentation!
See, there's this theatre in my hometown called the Orpheum. There was a big to-do a few years back because they'd finally gotten it restored and opened it for performances. My first time going there was to see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on the big-ass screen ^__^ I've performed on that stage twice, and been to numerous events there--it's a beautiful theatre.I covet the chandelier in the balcony...even though it's probably bigger than my dorm room ^^;;
Well, my parents got tickets to this show going on there tonight. It was a dramatization of the radio play "War of the Worlds." We're talking the original radio presentation that sent lots and lots of people screaming from their houses.
The staging was pretty simple--a bunch of guys in tuxes standing at microphones. But I really enjoyed it--almost liked it more than the moviein which Tom Cruise is out-acted by a...how old is she? Ten? It was uber-cool to actually hear the production and everything...and the Wurlitzer. Oh, the Wurlitzer.
I now know why they call it the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. That thing was playing bomb noises! And aliens! And fighter jets! And church bells! SO MUCH HEARTING!! Totally makes me happy that I was in that fundraiser concert in high school to fix the organ and bring it back to the Orpheum WHEE!!
And then the headache hit. DAMN YOU, BODY! WHY MUST YOU CONTINUE TO BETRAY MEEEEEE? *emo emo emo* The headache is receding now a bit...which is good, because Rachie wanted to go out for ice cream or something after she got off work to celebrate ze birthday. Mmph...must feel better...must go eat ice cream...
*mewls and goes to curl up for a little while*
Birthday countdown: One day and two hours...
HAPPY DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!! *plans to enjoy the extra hour of sleep, yesh*
