candyland: (oh yeah)
I don't think I ever linked that Magic Knight Rayearth fic from here (and I don't know if anyone on my f-list really knows MKR or has done any fandom-ish stuff with it), but here's a couple of [livejournal.com profile] 100fandomhell fics up on [livejournal.com profile] candyfics:

* An Unselfish Wish (Magic Knight Rayearth)
* Completing the Cycle (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

I am three fics into this--and have the next two done (yes, [livejournal.com profile] aishuu, you may throw large heavy things at me now if you like...I luff you lots?), and thus far, they have ALL been for fandoms I have never written for before. That seems...sort of backwards >_>;;

Anyway, last night's meeting was actually quite enjoyable. I feel like the new kid because all of these people really seem to know each other and are all friends...and I'm sitting here like, "Okay, what was your name again?" But we got some music picked. The songs are...slow, slow, slow, slower, and a Guys and Dolls medley. But one of the pieces is "May It Be," from Lord of the Rings. And I do like that song AND that arrangement, so it's all much yey~

...I hate humidity. It makes my hair be not-straightened anymore (which is about the only thing I really know how to do with it), and it makes my bangs go all spiral-curly. It looks awful ;o; But I think we might get some rain today. And rain makes me happy!

Still to do today...at school, I for sure need to get that music ordered and finish a couple other little things. And practice me some piano! And at the middle school, I have study hall today...but I need to get the gradebook updated with yesterday's points, and I need to get the music in those folders. All of which I really can do during study hall. And at home...I sort of need to do some cleaning, I think ~_~;; I FAIL AT HOUSEKEEPING!!

...BTW, did you guys know that on ff-dot-net, Avatar: The Last Airbender is listed as an anime? That makes me happy in my heart, it does! *pets Avatar*

ETA: I just had my first conversation with a parent--and it was a pretty positive one! YAY!

Okay, just a couple of really quick things that happened at the middle school today--because they were THAT AWESOME.

First--I had my study hall in the library, so I was standing outside the library door watching the kids run through the hallways. Out of nowhere come flying four of the girls from my study hall. They rush up to me in the hallway...and thanked me.

For all the rules I laid down in choir yesterday.

Because they said now choir can be fun.

Because they'll actually get to sing and do things in there.

...pretty sure you could have knocked me over with a feather.

During study hall, we had the best exchange in history. This was more or less a class affair, so I'll just use first initials. The set-up here is that four of the girls are sitting at one table, I'm at the table adjacent to them, and another girl (henceforth known as P) is at a third table, separate from everyone else--just goofing off a little bit.

P: DON'T JUDGE ME!

*all of us thought she said "touch" instead of "judge"*

All: ...huh?

P: I said don't judge me!

A: I thought you said don't touch me!

Me: ...well, you and your imaginary friends have a good time over there.

P: ...well, same to you and your ghost friends!

Me: *put my arm out like I had it around an invisible someone's shoulders* He's offended.

*the other girls all crack up*

P: *dives under the table* I'm protected! I have garlic!

K: That's vampires, you dork!

P: ...whoops!

Have I mentioned that I enjoy my study hall? Because I really, really do.

Tomorrow is Friday. AND MY FIRST TEACHER PAYDAY!!! *does jigs of happy*
