candyland: (friends)
First of all, I have the best friends in the world. You guys all know how awesome you are, right? I hope you do. If not, speak up and I'll make sure I tell you over and over again *hugs all around* Sorry I vanished from chat last night, guys--I popped a sleep aid, and it knocked me out. I don't even remember walking away from my computer.

Have you ever had one of those days? One of those days where you wake up and everything just seems right with the world? You know...you wake up on time and you're not tired, you put together a really cute outfit (in spite of the fact that you sort of forgot to do laundry the night before so you were sort of improvising and it worked!), your hair decided to look sort of cute for once, you were ready to go early enough that you had time to sit and scan the internet for a few before you went to make a travel mug of hot tea and head to work, your skinny jeans fit, you were totally going to be early except you had to go back because you realized you forgot your cell phone and since you're traveling between two buildings you don't want to go without it, so you wind up being a couple minutes late, but you just don't care, and then you teach your two choir classes and they're both in good moods and everyone sings really well and you have a good time and get through everything you wanted to get through and the weather's warmed up enough that you don't even need a winter coat and you've got the windows and door open to let some air into the room and you have a new LibriVox recording spinning in your laptop to listen to while you work on a bulletin board about chocolate for your classroom and you're just in a fantastic mood all around and you feel like a million bucks and you look like...well, maybe a hundred thousand or so, and the world is just a very beautiful place?

Ever had a day like that?

Well, that's exactly what my day has been like so far.

Except for the part about skinny jeans. That didn't happen. Curse you, skinny jeans... *shakes fist*

In case you think it's teal-deer, I'll summarize: This morning I woke up in a great mood. I got ready. I feel like I look really cute (end shallowness). I had time to make tea for myself before I went to school. My two choir classes went well. The music is coming along wonderfully. And now I'm listening to The Red House Mystery by A.A. Milne and getting ready to do some research on chocolate for a bulletin board I'm putting up in the room--figured it was something appropriate, given that Valentine's Day is just around the corner.

I cut out some Hershey Kiss shapes, and I'm covering them with foil. I'm going to use that for the border and as part of the title. The background is white, and the colors I'm using for the rest of it are bright pink and turquoise. When I was an RA, bulletin boards were one of my favorite things to do, and I'm glad I can carry that fun over to my career.

I'm just...really happy right now! ^____^

Some of you may (or may not) be aware of the latest challenge over on [livejournal.com profile] manycases1truth. The challenge is...BAD-FIC TIEM! This came about during a conversation between myself and [livejournal.com profile] jeva_chan *has a small moment of squee-ish pride at being an instigator of this*

Since the challenge went up a couple of days ago, we have been OVERRUN with awesomely bad fic. It's so horrendous, and we're all having an absolute blast with it. Since the vast majority of the people on that comm are awesome, creative writers...it's been a really interesting experience to see them write badly. On purpose. I swear, it's the only place where we're going to be encouraged and lauded for doing this.

And just so you know, it's hard to spell this badly on purpose. So go. Check out my contribution. It consists of yaoi smut. Sure, it doesn't have any of those FANCY PLOTLINES or GOOD CHARACTERIZATIONS or CORRECT PUNCTUATION...but it does probably signal the destruction of my credibility and reputation as a decent writer ^^;; AND THAT COUNTS FOR SOMETHING!! *strikes a pose*

Since I'm linking to things that will make you laugh (or burn your eyeball and make you reach for the brain-bleach), might as well toss out a couple other ones as well. These are far less likely to hurt your eyes, I promise.

There's a new video up on Potter Puppet Pals. This one is all about "wizard swears." Neville Longbottom appears for the first time. And Dumbledore's repetition of the Elder Swear...it's AWESOME.

And if you're in the mood for more Harry Potter, check out this video. I challenge you to watch it for about two minutes straight, and NOT be bouncing up and down. We couldn't, could we? *pokes Sage* ^.~

I had another link, but I'll save that for another day ^__^ And with that, I will end my spammage of your f-list for today ♥
