Earlier today, my throat started getting kinda scratchy. I thought it was just because I kept having to raise my voice to be heard over my energetic (but AWESOMELY singing) middle schoolers--they did a great job today. However, I ran to the store after school...and found it was getting worse. I grabbed a bottle of Mountain Dew and was drinking it while I did my little bit of shopping. Yes, I paid for it when I checked out.

So now it's four hours later and my face is getting that warm, dry feeling to it--which usually means a temperature. You can't feel your own forehead and get a realistic reading of your temperature, so I pulled out the new thermometer my mom sent me as a little gift because she realized I didn't have one. And I took my temperature.

99.1 degrees F.

A little bit warm, but not too bad. So like a delusional thing of delusions, I thought "Okay, I'll wait twenty minutes and take it again and see if it goes down!" So I did, and I took it again. It actually went up to 99.2. *sigh* I hadn't gotten sick at all so far this year, and I was so happy about it. Looks like that might be changing. Would explain why I've been feeling so off-kilter these last couple of days.

Hopefully it heals up before Monday. Trying to run a middle school rehearsal when I can't talk? NOT GONNA HAPPEN. And I'm trying not to think that the last time my throat did this, it was a day of sore throat-age, a day of endless migraine headache, and then...NAILED WITH A SUPER-VIRUS and was more or less unable to move for a full day and ended up dragging myself in to the shower in an attempt to feel human again and winding up passing out.

Plan for tomorrow consists of making a big crock-pot o' chicken noodle soup and putting it in Tupperware containers to freeze for later use. And knitting. And possibly sprawling on my couch and marathoning Ghost Hunters until my eyeballs roll out of my head. Good times, good times.

So...yeah. No ficcage for the second night in a row. Still need to catch up on comments. But...blah. Feel like crap... *picks up knitting and tries to focus self* I don't think I'm quite ready to sleep yet. Tired, but not sleepy.

PS. LJ is being really slow on the comment notifications as of late--I saw someone else on my f-list mention this, so I know it's not just me. So if I don't reply to something immediately, that's probably why. I haven't gotten the alert yet.
