Happy birthday to me~!
Oct. 30th, 2007 10:42 amI'm twenty-two years old.
In the last year, I nearly had a complete mental/nervous meltdown (*glares at Methods and piano*), yet still survived my last semester of classes in college.
I was the Madrigal Queen, a night I wish hadn't had to end.
I passed piano proficiency...on my second try ^^;;
I did my student teaching (including a third/fourth grade program of fifties and sixties music, two concerts, and nearly getting heat exhaustion at Large Group Contest).
I set up a fic-blog (with a beautiful layout made by
strawberrychan) and finished two theme comm challenges.
I graduated from college.
I worked all summer at Hy-Vee.
I sent out probably twenty-five resumes, scored three interviews, and was hired.
I moved out of my parents' house into my first apartment in a town four hours away from the city I've lived in since kindergarten.
I started my first teaching job.
I like my job and my students.
I don't really like professional development, but I think that's sort of a universal thing.
I am...happy. Stressed and tired and sort of lonely sometimes, but...I think I'm happy. I'm stable, and I'm taking my first steps out into the world. All in all, I'd say it's been a busy, awful, wonderful, crazy year. A lot of things have changed.
So Happy Birthday, self! Another year in which I haven't gone completely bonkers!
I'm off at conference choir all day today, so I probably won't be home/online until later tonight. I'll check emails and comments and all that fun stuff at that point in time ^__^
And because according to
ran_mouri82, I don't understand the crazy idea that people are supposed to give ME stuff on my birthday, I offer up new ficcage on
candyfics: Keeping the Secret for
30_friends.
