Feeling better
Nov. 16th, 2007 11:10 amI think I might have freaked a couple people out. Sorry, guys--I'm a lot calmer now. I talked to my parents--that was really one of my big concerns about this whole loan thing. My mom is my co-signer on my loans, so if I drop the ball, she stands to be penalized, and there is no way in HELL that I want that to happen.
I do have the world's most awesome parents, for those who didn't know--they told me that yes, it's hard, and yes, they want me to be as self-sufficient as possible. But if I find myself in a serious crunch, call them. They're well aware that I'm just getting started, and sometimes it takes a little nudge or a little help. So yes, LOVES TO MOMMY AND DADDY!
Today is Friday, JOYS~!! :D Not counting today, five more days until I'm home with the family. Which is pretty awesome. It feels like ages since I've been in S. City or anywhere like that.
AND I'M KICKING MYSELF FOR FORGETTING MY PHONE TODAY SO I CAN'T CHECK MY TEXTS TO SEE IF WE HAVE BABY YET!! *flails* GAAAAAAAH!! It's been a really long haul for poor Rachel. Last message I got from her was around five-thirty last night...
Rach went into the hospital on Wednesday night at seven. She texted me around eight-ish to tell me that she was checked in and they'd given her the drugs to induce labor and she was ready to rock. A little while later she added that they'd put the needle into her back *shudder* They told her that she would be a mother by eight AM on Thursday.
Fast-forward to ten-thirty on Thursday morning--yesterday. I've just done a couple of lessons, and all is pleasant with the world. I've got my phone at the ready in case Rach texts me with news, as she said she would. And lo, a text comes! I look, and it is, indeed, from Rachel...to tell me that the drugs are JUST kicking in, so she should hopefully be going into active labor soon.
Right after the middle school let out (around three o'clock) she sent me another text, saying that the doctors were thinking about sending her home because apparently this baby did NOT want to be born.
Fast-forward to around five-thirty-ish last night. I am in the midst of my nice breakdown over student loans when lo, my cell phone beeps. A text! From Rachel! Her water has broken and things are starting to happen!
I hadn't heard from her again as of twenty to eight this morning, and I don't know if she's texted me again or not, as my phone is sitting on my end table at home. GRR!! I'm going a little bit crazy here not knowing!! *flailflailflail* Guess I'll just have to wait *le sigh*
ammchan? I sent your Christmas present yesterday. May it be happy-making to you *glomps*
For a few others, I am intending to stop by the post office today and get some boxes suitable for the mailing of things. The ones I want to get out before Thanksgiving are the ones that are going outside of US borders AND the ones for people who've mentioned that they're not going to be around at Christmas. So I want to make sure everyone has their stuffs~ :D
...I think I'm going to swing by my apartment on my way to the middle school to grab my phone. I'm seriously going crazy @_@ Plus, I don't like driving without it between schools, ya know? Since it's Friday, we get to leave right after school let's out ^____^
Fics have been going up on
candyfics almost daily. There should hopefully be another one up tonight for
30_ways. I'm almost done with it :D So my plans for this weekend are to write, knit, write cards, and clean my apartment so I can get packed and ready to go for the long weekend. Gotta have myself ready to go Tuesday night so on Wednesday I can book!
