Quick post before work!
Aug. 30th, 2008 08:45 amOkay, to sum up:
Parents are gone for the weekend and I have the house to myself!
Going to work and functioning on approximately four hours of sleep sucks. As does insomnia brought on by a sudden, inexplicable rush of nerves at being alone in the house. In the night. In the dark... *channels Mrs. Danvers from Rebecca*
I am doing much simultaneous plotting for both
autumnwrite and Lurker Day, and am determined to have preparations for the two overlap because O HAY THERE WORD COUNT :D This will be fun \o/
If you have
candyfics friended (and I love you and give you chocolate babies if you do, you beautiful things, you-- *SHOT*), then there might be some slight abuse of your f-list on Tuesday. Just a warning ^^;;
Encouraged by
lwyn, I am really hoping to knock out 10,000 words on Monday and get
autumnwrite off to a good start. That would put me a full week ahead of minimum (which I think is 1230 words a day for this challenge), which is awesomely awesome.
I have finished knitting the body of the bag I made for my AlphaSmart, and am now working on the strap. I don't think it'll take too long. I promised
magicbulletgirl that I would post a picture when it was done, and I will. Just gotta get the strap finished and sewn on.
On a note that may or may not be related, I suck at sewing seams and having them look nice.
I need to catch up on comments on
candyfics.
And finally, Zero Punctuation was right. Psychonauts is frakkin' amazing. Seriously, I've been playing it with
kaitodoushi for two nights, and we're both hooked and adoring. It's delightful and funny and creative and interesting, and I can't WAIT to see where it goes!
I mean...how you can not like a game that (when describing how to use collectible items to level up and acquire new psychic abilities) includes a line like, "So...I put my cobwebs in there...and my psi-cards in there...and soon I'll be able to burn stuff!"
ILU, RAZ. AND FRANK. AND AGENT NEIN, WHO LIKES TO DESTROY TIFFANY LAMPS BECAUSE THEY'RE TACKY. AND EVERYONE ELSE IN THE GAME. ESPECIALLY YOU, DOGEN, WHO MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE MADE FOUR PEOPLES' HEADS EXPLODE :D :D :D
AND FINALLY, ILU X OVER 9000 TO THE KID WHO WENT INTO THAT WHOLE SPEECH ABOUT HOW THE INDIAN INSANE ASYLUM WAS BUILT OVER A CAVEMAN BURIAL GROUND, AND THAT THE ESCAPED INMATE WAS LIVING IN ANOTHER ASYLUM, BUT HE WAS STILL COUNTED AS ESCAPED.
...seriously, the writing in this game is some of the snappiest I've seen in a long time. And I do mean that it seriously flies right by the lovely sarcasm of our darling Phoenix and Apollo. Kat, we must play more. Like...now. WHY MUST YOU WORK TONIGHT?? ;o;
