PROFESSOR LAYTON AND THE DIABOLICAL BOX

I know, I know, I am a giant flake of flakiness and need to get the fanwork exchange up on professorlayton. But errands happened yesterday morning, work happened yesterday evening, and sleeping happened last night so the seven AM pharmacy meeting could happen this morning. I'll get it up today, I swear.

Torchwood already has me plunnie-ing. I think this might be bad. Note to self: never again should one watch a new series right before one is planning to take a month-long hiatus from fanworks in order to prepare for one's overwhelmingly huge pharmacy tech certification test. Oh well, already got one done for it for 100fandomhell, pimped below (because I'm a whore like that), so I can breathe a bit :D

I got my copy of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box yesterday after having to go to GameStop twice, since the truck hadn't arrived when I went there the first time. So now here I go, my running commentary as I play through it! There will be spoilers as I get further along~



~ I love clicking on the random things and seeing what the Random Text God tells us. My favorite so far is when you click on the chair in Layton's office: "I guess sitting in uncomfortable chairs makes you smarter." This is now my MSN name.

~ ...it doesn't bode well when I start having puzzle difficulties three puzzles in, does it?

~ Layton's voice is still sexy. I'm trying to figure out if they actually got some different voice actors for this one, or if all guys = Christopher Miller and all girls = Lani Minella, like in game one. If it's just Christopher Miller, then he is one of the best VAs ever.

~ ...what the bloody hell was up with that whole "I'm Layton's apprentice for great justice!" "Actually he's my--" "APPRENTICE, DAMN IT!" "... *mumble*" exchange?? Also, I think suspicious Chelmey is suspicious. I'm just saying...

~ I named my hamster Ringo. He is Ringo the Ridiculously Rotund Rodent ♥

~ Hank = Daryan Crescend, holy mother of god 0.0 THEY ARE HAIRDO BROTHERS.

~ Tom... *snerk* (Also, please tell me I'm not the only one who realized from the get-go that Tom was a dog?)

~ FLORA IS SO CUTE! :D

~ Sam SAMMY is awesome and win!

~ Oh noes a shadowy figure spies on them at the fair who could it possibly be?

~ Flora just uttered the phrase "This reminds me of a puzzle." I lol'd. Actually, some of the "I SOLVED IT!" dialogue is sort of cheesy. When Layton said, "A true gentleman never leaves any puzzle unsolved," I actually laughed loud enough that my sister stuck her head in and asked what I was doing. Then she suggested the game as a Christmas present and tried to lick my game box =[

~ Can someone explain why Ringo the Ridiculously Rotund Rodent is TALKING TO ME?

~ Luke is talking to cows. Just when I think this game can't get more hilarious.

~ BACKGROUND MUSIC IS IRIS OHMIGOD ♥ I'm not even clicking through the dialogue because I just want to listen to the midi-esque music in the background. It's such a pretty song...

~ Th-this is that box puzzle that took me a million tries to get on the bloody demo ;_; MY HATRED RUNS AS DEEP FOR THOU AS IT DOES FOR THAT BLEEPITY-BLEEPIN' APPLE SLIDER PUZZLE FROM GAME ONE, YOU HEAR ME? *Fist Shake of Righteous Indignation*

~ Luke asks what this Katia lady is like, and Layton says something about her breeding probably meaning she's both "beautiful and refined." Luke's all "WTF? Get ahold of yourself!" Layton is mentally cheating on Claire!

~ Sofa jumping party for great justice while Layton looks on disapprovingly!

~ Sam SAMMY'S voice actor is AWESOME!

~ Luke forgetting that Layton's an archaeologist...for great lulz.

~ NOT ANOTHER TOWER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
