candylandI had a seven AM meeting for work this morning, and I have a shift in salad bar starting in forty minutes. Phear me and my sleep deprived self. Especially when I get phone calls at one AM *sticks tongue out at certain persons who shall remain nameless*
In order to see as much of the games as possible, I've been setting our DVR to record the Olympics, both afternoon and evening airing. Then my mom and I sit down in the basement and watch them together. It's actually a really nice way to watch - we can fast-forward through the commercials and all the excess commentary. But it is sort of sad when we can fast-forward through a commercial block, then through an entire Olympic segment because there's nothing but people sitting at desks talking, and then through another commercial. Seriously. TOO MANY COMMERCIALS.
Last night's figure skating was glorious. Shen and Zhao, OMG ♥ Call me a sap, but I love them. Their skating is glorious, their story is lovely, and...I dunno, they've just really endeared themselves to me and I was thrilled to see them win. Her face was priceless, too: completely stoic while they read off the score, broke into a big, grinning happy scream when they said the words "first place." YAY! \o/
Also happy to see Canada win a gold medal on their home turf~ Mogul skiing is fun to watch z(^o^)-b
In other news, I babysat for my little cousin yesterday. She is three years old, and an absolute darling. Wanted her mom really badly, but we managed. Watched The Chipmunk Move (twice) (in a row), and then had hot dogs and hot cocoa for lunch, and then I managed to get a three-year-old to go down for a nap. I win \o/
And finally, I have a couple of things teetering on the edge of finished for Lurker Day, which is coming up on March 2nd (I'll make a separate post about that later). I decided that I am going to go ahead and de-anon on That One Fic and post it publicly so I can has finish it. 100fandomhell, and handed me a story to write that will probably get me kicked out of the challenge hopefully make a lot of you throw things at me LAUGH! :D
