I'm sure some of you remember me writing in here about the shooting that took place near campus a couple weeks back? If not, go here. Well, they caught the guy. Found him eating at a restaurant in South Carolina, I think my source told me. So they've got him. And there was much rejoicing (yaaaaay...)
In other news, at the school today I got to teach three sections of elementary schoolers--the substitute basically handed it over to me. I love them all to death, but they were squirrely little tykes today. The preschoolers were absolute darlings, though. I got lots of hugs and lots o' high-fives. The sub left a message for my co-op that I did really well and I might change my major tomorrow--which I won't. It was tiring and a bit stressful, but overall it was fun.
Here's a random little bit o' humor for y'all. My first day at the school, my co-op told me that we would be teaching the children a new song. "Today, we're going to learn a song called Poor Nose." If you want to know why I had a heart attack, read it out loud ;) I said that to the substitute and a couple of the high schoolers, and they had the exact same reaction. It's actually about how in winter we wear hats and scarves, but never anything on our noses. It's a cute song, but the title still makes me chuckle.
That's about all I've got at the moment. Might be more later. Right now, watching Kung Pow: Enter the Fist with
thekellylynn. It's one of those movies that is so stupid it's hilarious.
Much love,

Almost as good as that drawing of "lungs" Webber did telling us about a botched breathing excerise.

Date: 2006-01-20 05:01 am (UTC)It's surprising the number of times I've gotten to use that. People would be talking about horrible things that people have done, and I'll just smile and tell them about Weber's story about doing that in a class.
That's right up there with him telling us the story of him finding out his fly was Unzipped and losing control of a class for the rest of the peroid.
