Welcome to my new LJ!! Played around with the layout a TON, in case you couldn't tell. And I don't think I'm quite done yet, got a couple more things I might like to try with it, but for now, I'm fairly pleased with it. Just thought it was time for a change. Feel slightly nerdy for spending this much time messing with this, but oh well, it was fun. Still digging to find just the right combination of icons, but I think I'm getting close...

Joined up for another fic challenge ^^;; See, I've been wanting to go back to my quote-unquote "roots" a bit and get back into the Cardcaptor Sakura fandom again. Don't ask me why, but I've just been really wanting to write some good ol' Eriol/Tomoyo again. So I stuck in a claim for them at [livejournal.com profile] 30_romances and once I get confirmation, I'll get writing.

In other exciting news, we get to go see The Producers tonight!! It finally came to our city, and my sister works at the local movie theatre, so our whole family gets to go for free. I'm really excited--I love musicals.

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] writergurl on her book signing today!! We're proud of you, babe! And I look forward to sitting down and devouring the book as I fondly remember all those times we would write stories and such instead of paying attention during Mr. Cox's Algebra II class...he either hated us enough to not care, or loved us enough to let us get away with a LOT of crap. Best wishes on your upcoming project!

My sister had district speech today. She made State in both her choral reading and her group mime. The choral reading was called "Fifteen Minute University," in which you get the basics of several subjects in fifteen minutes (Biology 101: "We are all mutants. In the beginning, there was slop. Primordial slop." "A group of simians decided to stand up straight. Better posture meant more dates. More dates meant more sex, and more reproduction.") It was really cute.

I didn't see the mime, but it was called "What Women Want," which apparently had a few young males in the audience asking for a pen so they could take notes. It was about two women shopping in a shoe store and the hapless (male) clerk who's trying his best to help them. I'll get to see it at State, though.

Gotta go--off to the movie!!

Good luck with the challenge!

Your sister sounds awesome; if you get a video/script of the mime/speech, care to share?

I'm having problems with my own layout (grumblegrumblewhy is everone's computer at 1024x800 when mine's at 1262x768). But your layout's nice and a lovely change from your old one. ^^

30 romances? First I've heard of that. Maybe I'll check it out. :p

I know she has a script for the Fifteen Minute University thing--I actually paged through it before I saw it. If I can find it again (if it's in her room, it's probably lost to the black hole that is her floor ^^;;) I can probably toss a some of the best parts up here for everyone's reading enjoyment :)

...how long did it take you do that? I spent an hour trying to figure out all the little gizmos for mine, and most of it was already part and partial with the basic layout! But I'm computer stupid beyond turning it on and typing/playing games/listening to music on it. All that html stuff eludes me...

Thank you!! I don't know why it's giving you so many problems, but I think your layout is very nice :)

*looks innocent* There's something about Music History and Lit that just makes the writing happen...when I'm supposed to be paying attention. Not that it helps... ^^;;

But thank you! I will do my best on the new challenge! ...when-slash-if the mods ever come back and give the go-ahead ;_;

*pokes Fyliwion's muses* Hey--get back to work!!

XD thanks! The pictures don't show up well apparently; some parts of it are cut away o__O

And if you wanna edit a layout for LJ, using the S2 system makes everything so much easier. ^^ No html, if I remember correctly.

That's which one I'm using--the S2 system, I mean. I know absolutely nothing about html aside from making text bold or centered or doing a link, and I only learned that from hanging out on LJ ^^;;

I hope you can get the pic to work right :)
