Back to work!

Happy second semester, everyone! Back to work! *laugh* Kinda sad that I almost think of it as a holiday. But a new semester means a new start, new schedule, new classes...*grumble*...sort of...kinda wish I didn't have to take a second semester's worth of Music History and Lit, but meh, what can you do?

Tomorrow marks my first quote-unquote "long day" of the semester. Thursdays will be my long days this time around, which is fine. I can deal with that. But Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays shall rock *grin* Because I'm bored and feel like posting in here, I give you...



Mondays and Wednesdays
12:00: Jazz Choir
1:00: Conducting II
3:00: Choir
4:00: Band

Tuesdays
9:30: Music History and Lit II
11:00: Voice lesson
12:00: Classroom Management
1:30: Creative Writing (which I'm really excited about!!)
3:00: Choir
7:30: Staff meeting
I'm also on duty on Tuesday nights.

Thursdays
9:00: Piano
9:30: Music History and Lit II
11:00: Lunch!
12:00: Classroom Management
1:30: Creative Writing (squee!)
3:00: Choir
4:00: Band
5:30: 1:1 with Emma the Awesome every other week :)

Fridays
12:00: Jazz Choir
1:00: Lunch, and get an early start on the weekend!



Pretty happy about it, really. The Friday thing will be especially nice if I'm planning to go home for a weekend, means that if I'm properly motivated and get packed ahead of time, I can be out of here early and go home! Or just get started on my normal weekend slacking off ^_^

I'm a little nervous about Conducting II, though. There are four of us in the class, and each of us has to select a piece, rehearse it with the choir, and then direct it at the last concert. This is our third test. I have no idea what song I'll use or anything--our last concert is always lighter stuff, usually more pop-ish stuff, or Broadway. I think I'd like to do a Broadway song. If I could find something from The Boy from Oz, I would be in heaven, but I don't know if that's going to happen. I'll keep you posted on that as it happens.

Otherwise...yeah. First band rehearsal. We're playing one really scary piece about whales. It's long. But I think we can handle it. Otherwise, two of the pieces are ones I played in high school, much love there. And we're playing a really short but very cool song called Clowns. vixieangel, if you're reading this, I immediately thought of you *grin* It sounds really cool, babe, whether you're afraid of clowns or not ^__^

I just felt like posting something in here. Will probably have more to write tomorrow after the long day of classes. I have a feeling that something will happen tomorrow--call it a hunch, I just have a feeling that tomorrow will be an interesting day, for better or for worse. Welcome back for second semester, everyone!

AHHHH CREEPY CLOWNS!!!

You will do fine with conducting. It is preatty dull here. This harsh in band i am playing Declaration overture...I am not sure if you were there when I played that with Jerry. And guess what I am playing Concerto for Trombone!!! AGAIN. I am so excited but I miss the contral so much. I am on Bass Clarinet and yeah I miss my Contra. Let me know when the concerts are...I will try to be up for them! Anyway You take care and have fun writing those stories in Music Lit:D

I will definitely let you know when the concerts are!! And I actually made the comment to someone that I was glad to be back in Music History because something about the lectures kicks my Inner Muse into gear! Speaking of, the sequel to TotS now has two chapters! ...and an unfinished outline. God, I'm lazy ~.~

For the record, the clown song is really cute. More like a march than anything else. I remember Declaration Overture. And Concerto. The only part of Concerto I liked was the third movement, really.
