Welcome to my new LJ!! Played around with the layout a TON, in case you couldn't tell. And I don't think I'm quite done yet, got a couple more things I might like to try with it, but for now, I'm fairly pleased with it. Just thought it was time for a change. Feel slightly nerdy for spending this much time messing with this, but oh well, it was fun. Still digging to find just the right combination of icons, but I think I'm getting close...

Joined up for another fic challenge ^^;; See, I've been wanting to go back to my quote-unquote "roots" a bit and get back into the Cardcaptor Sakura fandom again. Don't ask me why, but I've just been really wanting to write some good ol' Eriol/Tomoyo again. So I stuck in a claim for them at [profile] 30_romances and once I get confirmation, I'll get writing.

In other exciting news, we get to go see The Producers tonight!! It finally came to our city, and my sister works at the local movie theatre, so our whole family gets to go for free. I'm really excited--I love musicals.

Congratulations to [profile] writergurl on her book signing today!! We're proud of you, babe! And I look forward to sitting down and devouring the book as I fondly remember all those times we would write stories and such instead of paying attention during Mr. Cox's Algebra II class...he either hated us enough to not care, or loved us enough to let us get away with a LOT of crap. Best wishes on your upcoming project!

My sister had district speech today. She made State in both her choral reading and her group mime. The choral reading was called "Fifteen Minute University," in which you get the basics of several subjects in fifteen minutes (Biology 101: "We are all mutants. In the beginning, there was slop. Primordial slop." "A group of simians decided to stand up straight. Better posture meant more dates. More dates meant more sex, and more reproduction.") It was really cute.

I didn't see the mime, but it was called "What Women Want," which apparently had a few young males in the audience asking for a pen so they could take notes. It was about two women shopping in a shoe store and the hapless (male) clerk who's trying his best to help them. I'll get to see it at State, though.

Gotta go--off to the movie!!
