Okay, I'm joining up here with everyone else to promote the love, the awesomeness, the squeefulness that was Detective Conan manga volume 573.

OHMIGOD, SO MUCH LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOVE!!!

ZOMG, it's Original!Kid--Toichi finally appears! We have confirmation that he was, in fact, Yukiko's teacher, and that Yuusaku and Kaitou Kid did go toe-to-toe. I'm sure this will also confirm that it was Yuusaku who coined the name KID from the numbers 1412, too *hope hope hope* From what I understand, the fandom hasn't been in this big of an uproar since that whole Chris Vineyard-Vermouth fiasco. I wasn't in the fandom yet, so this is my first foray into the real chaos of anticipation.

And on the other side, we've got chibi!Ran and chibi!Shinichi and a very cute blushy blushy glomp scene that I wish I could read but I will wait patiently for the translated scans =^^=

When I read it, though, I let out a few high-pitched squeals and started clapping my hands and bouncing up and down in my computer chair...and banging my knee on the computer desk and it huuuuuurt but that was okay because it was Toichi! And then I scrolled down, and there was itty-bitty-little-cutie!Kaito, popping a rose out of nowhere with that big grin of his. And I did it all over again, including banging my knee. Twice. It's so worth the bruises!! I also apologize to writergurl, who is not an anime fan, but was the only person online at that moment, so she got hit with the rant-age ^^;;

BTW, did anyone else think that Toichi looked awfully irritated at Kaito for popping up like that?

Ya know, I think it's been proven here, once and for all. Shinichi wasn't born to bring down the Black Ops--he was born to give Kaitou Kid a headache, because as I understand it, the puzzle he got was intended for Yuusaku. The "mystery man" probably wasn't expecting Shin-chan to be such a smart, stubborn sumbeech and take it on himself.

Plus, now the idea of Shinichi and Kaito possibly playing together becomes a bit more plausible, yes? God, I think all we really need now is an appearance by itty-bitty-little-cutie!Aoko, and I can die a happy fangirl.

Rejoice, all followers, for our beloved fanon has become canon! ...I can't wait for this anime episode to come out *goes all starry-eyed at the thought*

Yeah, Toichi did seem a bit irked at Kaito...but that was probably because Kaito called Yukiko "Obaachan" and Kaito appeared to either be A) On top of the table or B) In Toichi's lap, thus making Toichi a loving but irked father as he put his son aside, saying, "Kora, Kaito!" XDDD *proud that she actually read that little bit in Japanese, whut*

It was just ..awesome. And ties together everything. And amazing. And yes.

I could translate most of the scene between the chibis. It's so cute. I could give you a really rough version but if you want to wait for the actual translators, I would more than understand. XD

There's so much awesomeness in this. It's one of those things that I think the entire fandom has been waiting for, and we finally get it and everyone is just going nuts.

The discussions are going everywhere, and the plunnies are biting like mad! And if this produced this much chatter, I can only imagine what will happen when the translation AND the next file hit the web *goes all starry-eyed*

I think the DC/MK fandom is pretty much the nicest one I've ever jumped into. There are all these theories and ideas and everything flying around (and the series itself leaves plenty of room for that), but everyone's so nice, at least on the LJ front. There's debate, there's discussion, sometimes there's even argument, but I've come across very little hostility. And that makes me happy :D

I squealed and bounced and hurt myself over Toichi...and then did it all over again for Kaito. I'm really glad there was no one home to hear me, 'cause Little Sister would have heckled me to no end.

Chibi-cutie!Kaito is teh adorable!! All we need now is chibi-cutie!Aoko, and the fangirls will die adorable deaths! I wish I knew what Toichi was saying, but it seems that he has stolen Heiji's hairdo... =P

...just so you know, I'm seriously debating about whether or not to gank that icon. Just thought I'd make you aware of that *starry-eyed*

The first files from the Heiji and Hakuba case were on that link in the last comment. Click on "Volume 54," and I think the case is called "Eastern Detective" or something.

Isn't it incredible? AND WE FINALLY GET TO SEE ORIGINAL!KID!! He looks a little different then I remember him looking in earlier volumes or in MK, but I attribute that to Gosho's drawing style developing.

It also leads one to wonder...since he's really starting to tie these two series together (more KID appearances, and now Toichi and chibi-cutie!Kaito), I'm really starting to wonder if Gosho Aoyama is going to wrap them both up at the same time. The way they're constructed, it would be possible to finish them both off together. I don't know if he would or not.

Personally, I'd love to have more Magic Kaitou (provided we could actually get ahold of it and read it somehow), but...well, it would make for a most awesome ending if both were wrapped up together...guess we'll see what happens!

There are a million and a half ways he could go with all of this. In the end, it's what he decides to do. I think it would make for one huge ending of AWESOME if he wrapped them both up together, but on the other hand...there's still so much potential to be explored in the MK solo series. And with Kid's appearances in DC, if he does go back to it, I think it'll take off like a firework!

There's also a rumor going that this file is going to be about Toichi's death O_O Part of me wants some good angstin', but the rest of me says "NOOOOOO!!" Plus, I'm not sure if it's in the right time period, 'cause there seem to be different reports as to how long ago Toichi died *ponders*

I think anyone who knows about MK (which, let face it, who considers themselves a DC fan without being into MK?) is just like- totally freaking out with these awesome developments.

And the chibi!Shin/Ran scene? ♥ ♥ ♥ It's adorable to see the first time Shinichi called Ran by her first name.

Now- we just need chibi!Aoko and some chibi!Aoko/Kaito fluff and I'll be one happy fan XD

There are actually people who are into Conan who don't know MK. Someone was asking on the LJ comm about Kid's first appearance--if that was really the original Kid, or say, his son ^^;;

But I was doing happy happy joyous dances for the rest of the day! It made me go all wibbly, and the speculations are a-flying!

Someone gave me a rough translation of that scene because I was going fangirl CRAZY not know what it was all about. It's so cute! *is a shameless Shin/Ran shipper* I can't wait for the full translations--bet they hit the web in record time ^_____^

And I agree--the only thing we really need to make this file complete is some itty-bitty!Kaito and itty-bitty!Aoko fluffiness (or even just an appearance by itty-bitty!Aoko), and we can all die happy ^^ Although there are some rumors that this file's actually going to have Toichi's death ;_;
