...I am so tired. Like, you would not believe how truly tired I am right now.

We have four sections of elementary school a day. The first graders made valentines with big cut-out hearts and music symbols for the faces--some of them were REALLY cute! And then we had fourth grade, third grade, and fourth grade...all of whom were learning choreography for their program (don't know if I mentioned it, but they're working on a program of fifties and sixties music for the fourth and third graders, respectively).

So...yeah. The third graders now know "Yellow Submarine," and all three fourth grade classes know "At the Hop." And I was ready to drop x_x Seriously, for some reason I had a couple of major coughing fits during the course of the afternoon, and my throat was really burning. And all I could think was I HAD BETTER NOT BE GETTING BRONCHITIS AGAIN, OR SO HELP ME CLAUDE I WILL STAB SOMETHING!!!

Oh, and let me tell you the definition of terror: you are driving along, nearing the end of an hour-long commute (that you drive back and forth each day for a total of two hours on the road), and you are pondering as to whether or not you should stop at the bank on your way home because it is starting to snow...and suddenly you glance in your rearview mirror and see sirens about two hundred feet back. And then you look down at your speedometer and realize that in the midst of your ponderings about the possibility of a bank stop, your speed has increased from sixty-five (the speed limit) to seventy. And you have no idea if the cop is after you or not.

So I slowed down and turned my head to watch...as he zipped right by me, sirens a-screaming. And so I made it home safe and un-ticketed.

Also, it's been snowing like mad around here >.> *crosses fingers* Late start...snow day...one of the perks of student teaching: they have a snow day, I get a day off *hope hope hope*

Oh, before I forget--socchan? Is there gonna be a Lurker Day on March 2nd again? 'Cause, ummm... *fidgets* ...I got a few places I was kinda thinking I would delurk, and I need the motivation of Lurker Day to do it... *makes note to get/beg for a lurker icon*

And finally, someone felt the need to actively remind me that Wednesday is February fourteenth, aka National Make Single People Feel Like Shit Day. For my views on this holiday, I invite you to peruse last year's rant. In the meantime, there will be happy e-cards to a few of you because you are just awesome friends. And because I like to post things on holidays (even holidays that I don't find any pleasure in), hopefully there will be ficcage.

Best part? They're telling all the high schoolers to wear red and pink on Wednesday! I intend to show up in something that is NOT red and/or pink--possibly my dark gray pants and my black button-up shirt. Overall in regards to V-Day, I'm going to re-quote socchan: there are worse things than having "Miss" before your name on your tombstone.

Wow, this ended up a lot longer than it was supposed to...okay, time for bed x_x BYE!

Ahh.. good ol' Single's Awareness Day. I'll be celebrating my 22nd consecutive one too^^. I plan on dressing all in black and watching horribly violent movies (hopefully with other friends) aftr class that day.

That's neat that the kids are learning old songs! Wow, I can understand why you'd be tired, though. And you'd better not be getting bronchitus! It is one of life's ultimate evils!

I read your Valentine's Day rant, and I agree with it whole-heartedly! There's too much of an emphasis on romantic love and getting hitched in this world. Seriously, a friend of mine can't even be close to her best friend without people thinking they're a couple. It's just outrageous! There's so many kinds of love besides the romantic. And usually I find those other kinds to be the most interesting.

And the commercialism is really irritating too. Yes, buy the biggest, best diamonds ever or you don't love her! Kinda reminds me of a friendship song that has a line about the singer giving his friend the best and most expensive gift at his birthday party. I never liked that song, because of the message it's giving there.

As for me, I'm indifferent to Valentine's Day overall, though I look at it as "Buy Myself Something Nice" day. LOL. **bought herself two Final Fantasy VII figures she wants.**

That's kinda crummy to tell all the high schoolers to wear red and pink. It should be an optional thing, if they want to.

Am in total agreement with you about Valentine's day - there are all kinds of love, not just romantic love. And it's nice that there's a day set aside for it, but it's not really necessary. Everyday is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the people we love and care about. *Man, that was schmaltzy*

One of my boyfriends broke up with me two days before Valentine's Day - let me tell you how much I love *not* this holiday.

I like the idea of Lurker Day - may I participate too? I like making new friends. :)

As someone who's not gonna be single on V-Day (or VD Day as I used to call it, because so much sex happens that people have to get a ton of STD's...) I'll come right out and say I dislike this holiday. I'm sick of being hounded for what I want. I'm sick of straining my brain trying to come up with the perfect gift idea for my boyfriend. I burned all those on Christmas.

As for the rest of your post: Zomg, little kids. :D Boo for the tiredness and exhaustion (why am I still awake again?) Boo for the scaredness because of the cop. Maybe boo for the snow if you don't get a snow day. Aaaaaaaand... Lurker Day... well, I mostly fail at lurking. People usually know I'm lurking therefore I am not, in fact, a lurker... except I totally am. So... yeah. :D

I've had bronchitis actually--more than once XP Most recently...Germany and Austria sent me home with memories, souvenirs, a screwed-up sleeping schedule, and a whopping case of bronchitis. I know that wasn't bronchitis, but that's all I could think because it seems to prey on me >.>

*laugh* The best part was during Yellow Submarine with the first class, and some kid said it was a stupid song--who on Earth came up with it? I just chuckled.

In college, I had a nice group of friends of both sexes, and according to the rumor mill, I'd shacked up with just about all of them--including and especially the girl who was my best friend at the time ^^;; Note to self: post the story about what happened during that conference...

I much prefer the holiday on February fifteenth: Happy National Discount Candy Day! :D

The kids are (for the most part) adorable and wonderful :D I am enjoying working with them, but for some reason today I was just so worn out...and then the copper! RAR! But it wasn't me, I guess ^______^
