Jennifer Hudson won for Best Supporting Actress.

Helen Mirren (who is such a beautiful woman) won for Best Actress.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest won an Oscar, period.

And Ellen was an amazing host.

In short, I am a very happy Candy-chan, oh yes I am.

I have a real soft spot for Ellen Degeneres, though, and I was really pleased to see that she did such an awesome job hosting the Oscars. That's a tough gig--maybe they'll have her do it again next year?

The shadow-people were freakin' awesome! It was this dance group who moves behind a screen and forms the silhouettes of...well, just about anything. They were penguins, "snakes on a plane," the pitchfork-heeled shoe from The Devil Wears Prada, and other stuff :D

And while I'm at it, I'd better make a note to myself...

Dear Candy-chan:

You must immediately rush out and buy the Dreamgirls soundtrack.

Love,
~ Candy-chan ^_^

Other than that...posted a fic. In which I give Kaito a hard time, yes I do. And my muse decided to die on me around the time Pirates accepted its award, so there might not be much for posting on Friday ;o;

I knew Jennifer Hudson was gonna win, but I was really rooting for the little girl XD. I have a soft spot for young nominees. And she looked so cute!

I am in much agreement with you about Ellen. She's so funny and she did a terrific job hosting. I'm really glad they gave the Oscar to Helen Mirren. She was phenomenal in The Queen but she really had tough competition this year from those 2 other great ladies. :)

I wouldn't have been too broken up if the little girl had won...but I did really want to see Jennifer Hudson get up there, hold up her Oscar, and say, "IN YOUR FACE, SIMON!!" Even though that would have been horrendously tacky :3

Did you see that girl presenting an award with Will Smith's son?? *meltmeltmelt*

It wasn't exactly "on-edge," but it was fun and light and just a good time overall--kind of like her talk-show, really :D It was a good competition this year. It's kind of nice to not know exactly whose going to walk away with every award on the planet.

Why yes, I am looking at you, Return of the King.
