I haven't seen it yet--we're seeing it in about an hour and a half. I'm keeping an open mind about it, as this was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons. So I'm hoping it's good :3

I think the animation style for the movie looks really weird. I hope it will carry that certain darkness that the first movie and the recent series had! **is most familiar with those things.** I barely remember the first TV series, actually. XD; I was thrilled when they remade it as a darker show that still did retain a reasonable amount of humor. And I was also thrilled that they seemed to use the first movie as a guide for a lot of things. **spent many happy hours watching that first movie.**

Which version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are we talking about?

Totally adored the series when I was a kid, but what I've seen of the more recent cartoon scares me. ^^;;

I loved the old school cartoon. So lighthearted and fun. I also loved the live-action movies too, because of the dark approach to the story. Although the first movie was by far superior. I didn't see the latest animated series. I figure the best way to see the latest movie is with an open mind, trying not to compare and well, taking them as separate entities.

As I told [livejournal.com profile] wolf_crossbreed, I was going in with an open mind in the hopes that this would be a good, fun movie--and I thought it was. I did enjoy it :3 Michelangelo remains my favorite turtle...but Splinter was freakin' awesome :D

I have the TV series on DVD now, 'cept for one volume ^__^ Can't wait to watch 'em!

The original one (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0131613/) ♥

Haven't seen the new one, but might check it out if only for nostalgia's sake :3

Glad to hear it's good! ^____^

Ah, getting in touch with one's childhood is so fun. **pets old Disney shows on DVD.** DuckTales, Talespin, Darkwing Duck.... I love Rescue Rangers and Gummi Bears too, but the first three are my faves.

The whole original series is on DVD now? I figured it'd take them a while to release the whole thing. Of course, if the seasons were always as short as some of them were, I guess it shouldn't take long.

The only thing that really bothered me about the new show was the stuff that kept on happening to Stockman. Ew. No matter how horrible he was, I wanted them to just let the poor man die for real and let him stay dead!

Since you like the first movie, I do highly recommend giving the recent series a try. ^^
