candylandArr, mateys! Today be Talk Like a Pirate Day! ARR!!
I told my high schoolers about it yesterday as a class. One of them came today in full pirate COSTUME (she likes pirates ♥), and then when I was walking in, one of my girls ran up to me and leaned in and whispered, "Man overboard!" And then in choir, a bunch of them had one hand over their eyes and were making hooks with their index fingers and talking all pirate-y. Much love ~♥♥♥
I don't think I'll be mentioning it to my middle schoolers until the end of class, though. Last thing I need is to get them totally riled up when I'm trying to introduce new music. I think I've found a way to introduce them to foreign language pieces, though!
...we're going to sing La Bamba ^^ It's in Spanish, it's familiar, and when I showed it to my study hall kids yesterday, the girls all had heart attacks...until I started singing the tune, and then they were all very excited. And one of them told me that their old teacher would have never picked anything fun or upbeat like that. That made me feel squishy inside! :D
The rest of the week looks like it'll be a little bit busy, but that's okay. I enjoy being busy. Keeps me from sitting aroundeating, woes.

Had a really nice talk with someone last night (you know who you are *glomps*), and it got me thinking a little bit. So in honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day, I'll put it like this...MUSHY MOMENT OFF THE PORT BOW!
Sometimes I don't think I let all you beautiful people know how much I appreciate you. If I do, I certainly don't do it enough. So...thank you. Thank you all for being my friends, and for letting me be yours. You are some of the most amazing people on the planet, and I love you all dearly ~♥♥♥

...so do you guys think I should grow a beard? I think I'd look good with a beard ^_~
