I'm remembering why I liked Homecoming...
Sep. 26th, 2007 10:18 pmIt's Homecoming Week, and we've been doing a different spirit day each day. Monday was Hawaiian Day (I wore a couple of cheap plastic leis around--and I gave them ten seconds at the beginning of class to get the "lei-ed" jokes out of their systems), then yesterday was Twin Day and today was Movie Star Day. And I was saddened when I heard a girl say that she was Ginger Rogers and several people asked who Ginger Rogers was ;o;
Anyway, tomorrow is Nerd Day!So I'm going as myself, yay! Actually, I'm wearing capri pants with calf-high socks (that may or may not match) and sneakers...and then a white button-up shirt with one tail untucked. I found my old Marvin the Martian tie, so I figured I'll toss that on for good measure, and then a couple of pens in the shirt-pocket. And I'm going to wear my glasses instead of my contacts and put my hair in either pigtails or braids--haven't decided yet.
I promised a couple of my students that I would go all out for Nerd Day ^_~ Can you tell?
Tomorrow is going to be a really relaxed day. Two early outs in a row (today's was for staff development, and tomorrow is for a Homecoming festivity), so today we ran class periods 1-5 and tomorrow we run 6-8 and 5 (fifth hour is the lunch period). The English class I co-teach is first period and my choir class is second period. So tomorrow I am going to teach lessons and hang out...and then go do middle school study hall. Pretty darn sweet~!!
And I just got a phone call from my mother, asking if I'd like to meet her and Dad in Des Moines on Saturday for shopping and hanging out and fun stuff. I moved out almost two months ago, and it feels like eons since I last saw my parents in person. But yes, Saturday I will go hang with Mom and Dad, and it will be awesome. And Mom did allude to the fact that she thought I could probably use some new clothes... 8D
Regarding the Nancy Drew marathon: today was game five, The Final Scene. Tomorrow is Secret of the Scarlet Hand, which is one of my favorites because it's all about the Mayans, and I'm a big nerd for ancient history like that ~♥ Friday is Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake (one of the best games in the series), and then Saturday I'll squeeze The Haunted Carousel in...probably in the evening after I get home. That's game eight, which means I'm halfway through the marathon! \o/
There'll be a new fic up tomorrow ^_^

Date: 2007-09-27 03:44 pm (UTC)And now I'm sad, because... WHY AREN'T THERE ANY NANCY DREW-GAMES IN DENMARK? Goood, they look exciting :D
Is it about a detective or woot?

Date: 2007-09-27 03:49 pm (UTC)Nancy Drew is a detective. She first appeared back in the 1930s in a book series by an author name Carolyn Keene. Nancy has been in her late teens for over seventy-five years! There have been a lot of reincarnations and new book series about her and her adventures, reinventing her as the times change. They're great books, though--I read a bunch of them when I was younger.

Date: 2007-09-27 07:57 pm (UTC)Didn't I just update that at the beginning of the month? XD I'm working on it, slowly but surely. I swear I am. I want to update it again soon--but if absolutely nothing else, it'll be updated again by Christmas. And the third part of the Arc will be called "Cry of the Flame." It's already in the planning stages, and I think it's going to be fairly dark.
GO YOU GO!! :D :D :D
