I just heard some bad news.

This past summer I went to the wedding of two of my friends from college. Well...I just heard that the young woman in question was rushed to the hospital on Friday for an emergency C-section. She'd mentioned at the wedding that she was having a difficult pregnancy--she was losing weight (as opposed to gaining it), she was constantly dehydrated, and she was sick all the time.

Their daughter was born three months premature. She weighs only two pounds.

I know some of you on my f-list are a good deal more religious than I am. So I'm asking you to please keep this young family in your prayers. They're both good people, and they don't deserve to have this happen to them.

I just got an update. The baby (Kelly!) has to stay in the hospital until January (the original due date). No news on Mom yet but I assume both are hanging in there. She is at the Methodist Hospital.

I know I'm not really religious either, but situations like these always make me feel so helpless and sad. I sincerely hope and wish for their recovery.

It's really distressing when that happens, it takes a long time untill everythings clear and the child will be safe and stable. I hope everything goes ok with them, It's a horrible way to lose a child like that.
