I LOVE YOU ALL! :D

I have finished replying to comments (which took a little while). I got home at almost ten o'clock and popped on to check my email and had almost forty new emails, all LJ comment alerts and ff-dot-net review alerts. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME AND I FEEL SO LOVED AND I'M GLOMPING AND ATTACKLING ALL OF YOU!! AT THE SAME TIME!! Please breathe normally ^_~

My first field trip! We breezed out of the school at 11:30 and got to Hardee's for lunch a few minutes before noon. We were back on the bus at noon-thirty (and apparently it's funny that I say noon-thirty). Translation: we got twenty-two people to order, pay for, and consume their lunches in approximately twenty-eight minutes. I inhaled my lunch in seven. Not sure if I really even tasted my bacon cheeseburger and curly fries.

We had a run-through on the risers before group rehearsals started, and then all us directors basically got to kick back and relax for the afternoon. It was nice! Got to talk some of the other directors and hang out...it was a good day.

The other directors sang "Happy Birthday" to me over dinner--I'd mentioned to one of them that my sister was turning twenty on Saturday, and she asked how old I was, and I sort of chuckled and said, "Well, as of today I'm twenty-two." You have not heard "Happy Birthday" unless you've heard it sung by half a dozen choral directors in massive harmony. Glorious ~♥

The concert itself was lovely--the four choral pieces the large group did were "Deep River," "May It Be" (from Lord of the Rings), "O Occhi Manza Mia" (which is an Italian love-song that actually translates to "O eyes of my heffer"--at that time, it was apparently a term of endearment to call your girlfriend a cow), and "Guys and Dolls" (a medley--my girls were completely taken with "Bushel and a Peck"). And each choir performed an individual number, which was fun. I feel like our group did a very good performance :D

We loaded back up onto the bus after the concert and headed for home. Had a sing-a-long and party on the bus. And when I say "sing" I mean "scream whatever songs come to mind at the top of our lungs without a care for the consequences." Hey, I usually take pretty good care of my voice, so it's okay/fun to sort of not worry about it once in a while.

Right now we're watching The Producers and everyone's just sort of relaxed. I don't have much of a voice at the moment, nor do many of my students, and we're ALL tired. We're done with the honor choir music. We don't have choir tomorrow. So...I'm giving them a free day. Put a movie on and told them they could do homework and stuff if they wanted. So it's nice and calm and quiet in here right now ^____^

Today is the only normal day of school this week for the choir kids. Monday was an early out (had periods 1-5), yesterday was conference choir, today is normal, and tomorrow is the second early out (periods 6-8 and 5), and then no school on Friday (YAY!) The early outs are for parent-teacher conferences.

And tonight is also my only free night for the week--I'm not sure if I'm going to the play on Friday or Saturday night. So I'm going to pick up around my apartment...and then I'm going to pull my big pink chair up in front of my computer and spend my evening on chat, watching my new season of Ghost Hunters and working on various things. And I'm going to enjoy my three day weekend, thank you very much :DDD

The bell just rang and everyone has cleared out. The movie's still playing ^^;; I might just let it go for now. It's nice to have some background noise, ya know? =D

Okay, should probably do some work. Even though I really would prefer to sort of fall over and take a nap. But eh, that's okay. AFTER TOMORROW, I AM FREE FOR THREE BEAUTIFUL DAYS!! \o/ My mom was right when she told me to never complain about my job because teachers get some of the best vacation time on Earth ^_______^

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
