I was talking with jeva_chan earlier. marsdejahthoris posted a new fic on manycases1truth, and all her stuff is pretty hard-core awesome. And so I read it, and so I felt the usual rush of awe and petty jealousy as when I read her stuff. Yes, I am a petty bitch like that. Yes, I admit to it.

And yes, I suck at expressing my admiration for people. I read stuff by people like Ellen and ickaimp and ysabet and tons more (all of whom are freakin' awesome, in case you didn't know), and I just want to go "ASDLKGJLASDJ FANGIRL!" If I try to express said admiration, I wind up feeling like a total freak, or I get paranoid about sounding like a stalker or something.

jeva_chan, darling that she is, told me that I'm not a freak. Until I plagiarize the LJ bio, entries, comments, and fanfic posts of a fan-writer who has recently died of breast cancer (and then try to tell everyone that I did it because she wanted me to), I am not a freak. This person, however, IS.

...I feel a little bit better about myself now. No matter how awkward I might be (and I'm pretty sure I am awkward), I've got nothing on that guy. Nothing at all. I mean...holy buckets, Batman.

Plagiarism itself is atrocious, but to go to that extreme?? When the person is deceased? And what boggles me even more is that it wasn't even just going and taking the stories. This thing took her entries, her comments...EVERYTHING. How much work did that take?

Man, I've been fangirling Ellen Brand since the Power Ranger days. D: I love her fics so much~ She is made of the awesomesauce. And actually she's the reason I finally really got into Detective Conan. ^_^; I'd caught the dub on Cartoon Network before, found it mildly interesting and put it on the "check it out later" list, and promptly forgot about it (like everything else on that list). I usually don't have the time to watch tv. Then I saw that she was writing for it and decided to just go ahead and check out the manga (I definitely have time for reading, lol). :D And then I fell fast and hard for it~

Anyway, all of this tl;dr is my attempt at having something else of relevance to say other than just to ask if I can friend you. :D So can I?

I know!! It's frightening to see stuff like that. And his "apologies"...they're scary in their own right. It's like he can't figure out why people are freaking out about this.

And to be honest...this is the first time I have ever seen such a unified reaction. Usually there's at least one or two dissenters in these situations, but in this case? None. There was one person at the beginning who didn't seem to get what the fuss was about, but when it was explained to them, they agreed that it was awful. One hundred percent agreement.

And going against my own advice, I shall reply while I am high on pain killers. Holy crap, high on pain killers. @_@;; But anyway, you are an awesome writer in and of yourself. I absolutely adore your gen stuff and find your canon pairing fics to be quite entertaining as well. :D Which is a higher compliment than it seems. Most canon pairing fics tend to bore me because I generally get the vast majority of my enjoyment of said pairings from the canon itself. Though, Gosho does make it slightly difficult at times with all the childhood friends comments, since the thought of romancing one of my own childhood friends kinda squicks me out. LOL! XD;;; But I really, really liked yours. =) Sadly, I tend to fail at reviewing and commenting though. I have the bad habit of not really having anything else to say but "squee I love this heartheartheart".

I think it's fun to try and do stuff like this on painkillers--first you try to type the message, and then after the meds wear off you can go back and try to figure out what you were trying to type. Twice the fun for your money! Or at least that's how it works for me--you're plenty understandable xD
