I'm not a sub-purist or anything (I watch dubs when I'm too lazy to really pay attention. Big O was my fave dub) but some dubs are just... ergh. I know they change names to suit the audience but some changes are just unnecessary. Like in Shaman King: they made the Chinese boy have a British accent (a crappy, ear-splitting one at that) and the British guy with an American one. So, I agree, I'm grateful they didn't give Heiji a typical dubbed-he's-from-Osaka-therefore-hick-accent.
I still think they should give Hakuba a snooty last name like Hollingsworth or Wentworth. Anything "-worth". I dunno. Just something stereotypically British. Unless they pull a fast one on us and make him not British but something else... like French?? Or Russian?
