[livejournal.com profile] summerwrite is officially underway! Goal is to write 150,000 words in 123 days, aka four months. A lot of us are shooting for 10K by the end of the first week. Got some new faces on the ol' f-list from the challenge--welcome, all! :D

My main focus is going to be my Magic Knight Rayearth story...but I was thinking about it, and realized that I don't want to burn myself out on it. So expect a few one-shots to pop up here and there. First one actually just got posted, linked at the bottom of this entry XDD My first SW post, whee! So we'll see where I end up by the end of this summer.

Hope nobody will mind the running word-count, either. Might just tack the meter onto the bottom of an entry here and there. But I'm hoping to knock out a couple thousand by tonight. WHY YES, I AM INSANE. HOW DID YOU NOTICE?

Alas, I do have to run errands tomorrow. Namely, gotta go to the grocery store and grab a few things. Shouldn't take too long, though. Need to do some laundry as well. Stupid reality, interfering with my writing obsession! *shakes fist*

Yesterday, we watched more Phantom of the Opera in middle school choir. And again, we managed to get to the end of class on a cliffhanger--right when Buquet dies. So the body drops onto the stage, and...WHOOPS THERE'S THE BELL. When I got up to turn it off, two of the girls actually jumped up and tried to bodily block me from getting to the TV. And when I say "bodily block," I mean "grabbed my waist and tried to push me back." Wound up with one of them tucked under my arm while I grabbed the remote (which another student was trying to take to stop me) and hit pause.

I love my middle schoolers.

It's so awesome that the kids are that excited by Phantom of the Opera! I love it when children are positively influenced by art...

I think a few of them were skeptical at first, but they seem to be getting into it. Especially when most of the chatter is them trying to figure out what's going to happen XD It makes me happy to see them getting into a really good musical \o/

Thank you! ^__^ I'm really happy they got into it--a few seemed a bit "Ehh..." on the idea, but they protest when I go to turn it off!
