All righty then.

So most of the people I know voted for Obama, with the exception of my mom's family (some of whom may or may not also be a bit on the racist side, judging from some comments made when the whole family was together for Grandpa's funeral), but I have done my best to be respectful to those who voted for McCain.

However, given what was discovered a short time ago, I'm afraid that I must respond to someone (an obvious McCain supporter, for reasons you will see below) in the following fashion...

For the record, that's kaitodoushi in the picture. She also made the macro AND recorded the little joyful tune you'll hear if you click on that thar link. Apologies for the shoddy quality of the picture, but it was going on midnight, and the only light we had was the motion-sensor above the garage.

How did this come about, you may ask? Well, we decided to go on a little celebratory ice cream run. Kat was coming over to pick me up, so I went to stand by the front door and wait. I noticed something odd in the yard--then I realized that our sign wasn't so close to the porch, and upon further peering through the glass, I realized that there was a McCain-Palin sign in our yard. I could actually see a couple of them.

How thoughtful of some random plebe to stick stuff in our yard. I really have nothing against McCain supporters, but come on, grow up. Although I should thank Random Plebe for giving Kat and I something to laugh about all through our midnight munchie run. And laugh, we did. CONSTANTLY.

But anyway, it wasn't until Kat got there (and momentarily thought she was at the wrong house) that we realized the extent of it. Especially the ones placed in a nice little ring around our Obama-Biden sign. But she was nice enough to help me pull them out of the yard, and then we counted them.

SIXTEEN SIGNS.

...why sixteen, I wonder? Such a random number.

Kat then posed for that picture--I wish we'd gotten a shot of them in the yard, but oh well. Then we stacked them on the porch and went to get foods. We were tempted to burn them to roast marshmallows, but sadly we lacked matches. And also marshmallows. And it's sort of illegal.

The thing that I have to ask is...WHY?? WHAT PURPOSE DID THIS SERVE? I don't know, did they think it would somehow change our minds, or magically make our votes change to McCain? I'm betting it was just to be annoying. And sadly...it didn't work. We laughed our heads off. And Kat sang about being butthurt, which is ALWAYS funny.

And here's the best part: it took us a while to get our Obama-Biden sign. Those things were apparently really hard to come by. Soooo what does it say when someone has sixteen McCain signs on hand to randomly stick in someone's yard at any given moment? I'm just sayin'...



And with that, I think I am going to bed. Tomorrow's plan consists of knitting, NaNo-ing, and finally watching that DVR recording of the Ghost Hunters Halloween special. Days off are bliss ♥

Unfortunately I voted in the only blue county in a red state. Alas, blue all the way though! I'd totally try burning the McCain/Palin signs...but you never know what kind of evil might be released in those flames.
