...sums up my feelings on NaNo right now ^^;;

So let's see. My day off from work was spent attempting to write (managed a few thousand, and will be resuming this after I finish this entry). And I also watched almost the entire fourth season of A Haunting after having it for a good couple o' months. That show...I dunno. If you're looking for life-altering proof of the unknown, look somewhere else. If you're looking for a bit of a cheap scare, some greatly exaggerated claims, and some really lousy acting, enjoy it well!

Next on my viewing list is my fourth season of Numb3rs. I love that show. TALK NERDY TO ME, DARLINGS!

Also, some things that have made me happy over the last few days!

Exhibit A, I offer up this from the Gyakuten Saiban/Ace Attorney crack-comm [livejournal.com profile] boobjection. Adding Blue's Clues to anything will make that thing awesome, I have decided. Oh, Maya ~♥

Exhibit B is reading over a bunch of screencap adventures over on [livejournal.com profile] screencappery. The snark on some of those is just beautiful. I'm currently enjoying Sanitarium and American McGee's Alice in particular :D

Exhibit C is this. This little article/poll was posted regarding which was better, Twilight or Harry Potter. Except the author only posted the poll to a Twilight mailing list or some such thing. Well, someone on the HP side of things got wind of it, it wound up over on ONTD, and it has erupted into an all-out war. Best part is that the original poster of the article (if that is, indeed, truly her) seems to be getting kinda butthurt over all the Twilight hate. The comments are comedy gold. Por ejemplo~

"Twilight kicked me :( - A. Puppy"

...also, I actually found out just today that I do, in fact, know someone TWO SOMEONES who likes Twilight and is extremely excited for the movie to come out. This was a bit of a shock to me, as you might be able to tell o.O But to each their own, yes~ It was just that before, I was one of the legions of people who could say that I didn't actually know anyone who liked it. And there seem to be a lot of those people XD

Aaaaaand finally, one of my earliest fandoms has decided that it wants to drag me back into its depths. And it has managed to get its sharp little meathooks into me something good. See, I watched the newest episode of YGO Abridged, and it had the theme song in it and it got me thinking, and...and...

...I DON'T WANNA GET BACK INTO POKEMON!! *wails but is dragged away by a Charizard*

Well, in regard to NaNo, I'd just grit my teeth and refuse to be beaten. If you like, I can tell in detail what I would like to do with my third NaNo novel. It isn't pretty. I only finished it because I refused to lose because I was writing what basically amounted to a piece of dribble.

If I had known you were going to NaNo more than a few days in advance, I would've recommended pounding out a first draft of the last part of your MKR trilogy.

I'm trying to do that. It's just...ya know, not working terribly well XD I've found I do better in sprints, so I should probably get me into the sprint-chat sometime soon. I'm sure by the end these will all be dribble, but god willing there will be fifty thousand words worth of dribble!

...uhh...that fic is going to be a WHOLE lot longer than 50K. I probably could have hammered out the outline and been pretty close to fifty thousand, though *laugh* But there's a lot going into that story... *needs to plan, OTL*

I write in sprints of about 300-400 words. It adds up over the course of a day. ^_^ Go us people who write dribble?

But NaNo would be an excellent starting point. Besides, a rough draft is precisly that. Rough. ^_^ Not that I am good at writing rough drafts.

I am very sorry, but I have to agree with Writergurl. I AAAAAAAAM AAAAAAAAAAA TWILIGHT-FAAAAAAAAAN! But I can't watch the movie before february D:
But seriously, I am a fan, yeah, but I understand everyone who isn't. Sometimes the books get a liiiiittle too much fluffy-van-puffy, but really, you learn to adore it :D

Good luck on the NaNoWriMo! Seems like it's going well? :) Isn't it really hard to write so many words so quickly? And can you tell us what it's about? :D

...I'm with writergurl and shubbiamam...I admit to being a Twilighter...I don't have tickets to the midnight showing though. I hate having to work at 8 am. I don't do late nights anymore. I is a grown up. That has a thing for teen vampire lit.

*note to writergurl & shubbiamam: I suggest reading The House of Night series. It's a new spin on vamp lore that is in the vein of teen angst.

I've liked Twilight since errr... May? April? *sometimes last spring* pretty sure I went spazzy on it too cuz I had to search to find the books (I admit I was like REALLY miffed when I came back and like even the convience store seems to have copies and this was in August). I've kinda like become more "meh" on it since then primarily cuz OMGTWLIGHTSOAWESOMELIKEAWAAAHHHHH and one cannot have that pounding around them without giong ENOUGH PEOPLES!!!! but yesh... I'm fond of the first couple at least (probably until the end of the second... the third was okay but yeah...) They're nice easy romantic reads to me and yeah.. they'res definitely parts I was fond of ^^ It was like the just having read it spazz attack and then the mellowing out meh ^_~

I'm going to see the movie tomorrow- solely cuz I have read the books and like them even though when I initially heard they were coming out I was like You have GOT to be joking me since its the kidna books that are all well and good to read but makes a TERRIBLE movie (I mean it might be good but not the type I care to rewatch ^_~) So yesh

Well, I kind of like Twilight...

Hey, now I've the ultimate argument for conversation around the subject "popularity=proof of quality?".
I've just to said "Twilight", and I win. Just one word.
When you're a lazy elistist with unusual tastes, it's the kind of stuff that you could appreciate. (smirk) X)

And each times that I've doubt and self-esteem issue about my own writings, I've just to whisper "Twilight" and it's solved in one second.

That's awesome, just for that, I love Stef... XD;

Thanks for the wank by the way, it's been a while since the last times I've read a good old twilight wank and it's always a pleasure. ^__^

Oh well, good luck for your writing, and don't worry, there are still people who don't like twilight in your friendlist.XD

If I do twenty minutes of hard sprinting, I usually wind up with anywhere from 700-1000 words in a single sprint. Those add up really fast. I have this problem of being distracted by shiny things, though ^^;;

To be honest, I don't even want to think too much about writing it just yet. I want to finish the second part first, and then take some time to really get my outline in order before I go beyond the prologue. Which is already written.

NUUUU! *flails around*

Oh, don't worry--got some pretty cool folks 'round these parts. And my sporking more goes towards the people who claim that it's the best literary thing in history, not so much the people who enjoy it for what it is--which, as Cass put it, is sparkly vampire trash XD

Although it's scary how many of the spelling-impaired comments on that article I linked cite Edward's sparkly hawtness as their biggest defense of the book. It's like, "If that's all you've got, then you're in bigger trouble than you probably realize."

XDD But you're not professing it to be a great work of classic literature that will sweep the ages, right? That's where my issue with it comes up. For me, it failed the five-page test XD

I really have nothing against the books or the people who enjoy them for what they are (as my friend put it: sparkly vampire trash, with a special mention of the last book as, "...this is shit." And that is why I love [livejournal.com profile] writergurl.)

And you're quite right XD Twilight is the cure for low self-esteem in writers because whatever we write, it will always be better than that! YOU ARE GENIUS! \o/

The comments on that article are pure wanky delight. And quite creative, too. Someone (or a whole bunch of someones) put a fair amount of thought into messing with the Twilight fans on that page.

Hee! Thanks! :D

Oh bit i'm with you on this area, the world would be sad if people weren't allowed to have guilty pleasure or couldn't read trashy books between two literrary masterpiece, but the world would be a sadder place if Twilight become the ice on the cake in litterature. XD;

"And you're quite right XD Twilight is the cure for low self-esteem in writers because whatever we write, it will always be better than that! YOU ARE GENIUS! \o/"
Twilight should be seen as a badfic, and badfics are necessary for the self-esteem of the normal writers. ^__^
(And if you add the infinite laughs created by sporking and parodies, Twilight is trully a source of delight...and yeah, I assume the badness of the pun)XD;
Oh, and if you're crossing the line, one day, to come to the dark side( Come on, we've chocolate), takes a look on Weepingcock from times to times. ^_-
(Smirk and hides) X)

My favorite one is the "I've written Twilight because, in comparaison, HP looks like a masterpiece" signed Rowling. XD;
(To be honest, I've always found the HP books overrated, so I found both sides annoying in this kind of wank...but Twilight fanatics are still the ones who deserve trolling and virtual slapping) Xp XD;

Everyone has guilty pleasures *hides Cooking Mama behind my back* And I've read my share of trashy novels XD But they're not breakthrough literary masterpieces.

Unless the badfic is written, say, for a challenge on a writing community. [livejournal.com profile] manycases1truth did that, and it was epic and eye-burning ^__^ And I've looked at weepingcock. That comm makes me feel better about my couple of attempts at smut >_> Things that make a writer feel better about themselves... *hugs them both*

I enjoyed the HP books, although I wasn't standing in line to get my copy or anything. Except book five. That was just whiny. And admittedly, the HP fans do bring on their own special brand of crazy.
