Have any of you ever had one of those wacked-out dreams that seems to run all night? Even if you wake up, the minute you doze off again it just starts right back up? Yeah, I had one last night. It wasn't pleasant--there was a ghost who was trying to kill me for some reason, so he was possessing people around me, and then we sealed him into something (there was someone with me, I can't remember who it was, or what we trapped him in), and then we all thought we were safe until someone set him free, and then I think he was chasing me...

My subconscious is frightening.

I've been having a lot of weird dreams lately. A few nights ago I had one that sounds like the punchline of a joke XD I dreamed that my pillows were covered in gravy and I wanted to get the gravy off them. When I woke up, I found one of my pillows almost completely pulled out of its pillowcase. Reminded me of that joke where you dream about a marshmallow and wake up to find your pillow is gone XD

Anyway...

It seems I know a lot more Twilight fans than I thought XD I really don't have a problem with people liking what they like. Enjoy it well if you do! It's the people who insist that it is the greatest work of literature ever (sorry, but I'm rather partial to The Catcher in the Rye and My Antonia, though I would never claim that those two classics are the absolute greatest of literature) who drive me nuts.

And that one co-worker of mine who tried to tell me that the Twilight movie was going to be the next Titanic and shatter every record under the sun and win every award on the planet, including Oscars. Then she gave me a "Why are you speaking Greek?" look when I told her NO.

I picked up my DS again last night and started playing a little Pokemon Diamond. I do like the game :3 Need to catch Dialga.

...yeah, I'm boring. And also don't want to go to work XD

I've only been getting about half of them for my own journal and my icon journal, and none from my writing journal. I know they said there might be some issues with the server move and to check spam mail folders, but so far- none of my comments have appeared there either :/

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of comments being mailed. Just think of it as a vacation. ^_^

I have a little confession to make. I hadn't even heard of Twilight until two or three weeks ago. I saw a display for it at the bookstore, looked over the summaries, thought, "okay" and went on my way. ^^; I actually stopped there because there were a bunch of young teens hanging around the display and was curious what type of books would get kids to hang around it.

I just don't give a damn about Twilight. I could probably borrow the book from a younger friend of mine, but... guh. She just doesn't get that there are better vampire stories out there. My mom's friend (and mine too but she's a lot older than me) has another friend who loves it and I'm like, wtff it's training an entire generation of girls how to be abused under the pretense of "true love" and it's like. What.

But uhhh I DO THAT DREAM THING I did it once with a dream that involved House, Cuddy, a SWAT team, and zombies. And hybrid animals. I think I made a post about it. ...actually waking up and returning to dreams is normal for me. It takes my brain a long time to move out of delta sleep (I think it's delta...) when I wake up, so if I'm awake and then back asleep quick enough I can even go right back to the same dream.

AND YAY POKEMON :D yesterday I pulled out my copy of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and it's just as freaking addictive as ever. xD

And there's no way Twilight's winning that many awards with a leading man who looks like he's been hit by a truck and revived with hairspray.

*pats you*

It must be from stress. Every week before some major exam, I dream about zombies and vampires and pythons chasing me around... >.>

great lit...

I wouldn't call "Twilight" great lit. An easy read, of course. A new genre getting the tech absorbed kiddies of America reading again, yesh. I'll admit to wanting to bonk Bella on the head more than a few times while reading the series. However, it was a great escape for me while reading and that is always a plus and what got me reading in the first place. And I'm pretty sure that it "Twilight" wins any awards it will be Razzies or MTV Movie Awards. Gotta love pop culture!

None have been in my spam folder either--I've been watching that to make sure, figuring it was something to do with the server move. They're coming in spurts now, and not always in the right order, but they're getting there. Slowly but surely XD Oh well, guess we'll have to wait and see.

But then I just hit reload every once in a while, especially when I know they're not getting there *laugh* Obsessive Candy is obsessive~

I heard of it on [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets, and picked it up at Barnes and Noble to page through it and see if I could see what all the fuss was about, though I knew that a lot of people were claiming to lose all respect for anyone who liked the books.

It failed the five-page test.

I never really got the whole appeal of vampires, to be honest. If people like them, cool beans, but it's just never been my thing. Twilight did not inspire me to give the genre another look ^^;; I've mentioned this to a couple of other people, but it failed the five-page test for me.

I don't usually return to dreams unless they're really bizarre nightmares, and even then that's usually when I'm sick. The one time I got knocked flat by a virus, I had a dream that I was being chased up a giant metal Christmas trees by monsters on broomsticks who were throwing fireballs at me. I just wanted to hang the ornaments.

I HAVE EXPLORERS OF TIME! :D I'm leveling up a bit before I go face Groudon. The games are awesome. My wailing protests are more directed at the anime. Which is not listening to said wailing protests.

Sad part is that the actor himself is not bad looking. He's just the victim of really god-awful makeup and bad lighting and...well, everything else that's wrong with the movie on principle *laugh* I kid, I kid~

*purrs* Wow. You should post about your dreams :O I usually have the really crazy, all night dreams when I'm sick. Although there was the one where Pokemon and Harry Potter wound up in Rose Red and there were zombies chasing a Pikachu...

Enjoy it well. I didn't make it past five pages, and I couldn't even tell you what happened on those five pages. But I look forward to the Razzies this year. They're always entertaining! :D

*nods* Same here.

Well, I read the preview pages on Amazon. It seems like it would be more of a 'fun' read than anything great. Something to sit down with a bowl of popcorn and snark at. Those kinds of books have their place in the world. The world would be a lot duller if there weren't 'fun' books around. I might read it just to see if I like it or not.

Maybe some day I'll give it another try. I've been thinking about attempting this [livejournal.com profile] 50bookchallenge thing after the New Year, so maybe I'll force myself to just read the series from start to finish. But I won't buy them XD Yaaaaaay library!

It would be really interesting to see all those Pokemon running around screaming bloody murder... Oh, what an episode that would be...definitely more interesting from what it has to offer now. :D
