candyland: (murder)

I swear to goodness I'll catch up on comments later tonight, both on here and on [livejournal.com profile] candyfics. But first, a little tale of someone very much wanting to bludgeon a co-worker with the nearest wok. Not even kidding, I saw red. And it wasn't the sweet and sour sauce on the table.

Preface: I took a fiver at work, and had a text message from [livejournal.com profile] bishonen_girl asking if I was free. We bounced some texts around, and decided to grab a bite to eat, and then watch some movies. A pleasant evening was sure to commence. And given that my day had been sort of crappy thus far, I was looking forward to it. When my co-worker asked what I was doing that evening, I mentioned that we were going to watch some movies.

Fast-forward to four o'clock. I am technically supposed to be off, but I'm sticking around for a few to help finish up some small stuff. [livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi arrives. There is already stress from her family all being in town for the holidays, and because due to a combination of poor scheduling and possible injury, it's just Kat and this other co-worker tonight. Invader Zim jokes are told, and a smile is found.

We chat for a minute, and I mention that I'm getting together with BG and starting her on Ghost Stories tonight if it kills both of us. Kat's already seen it. All seemed well with on that front, and we realized that we really really reeeeeeally need to find a night when all three of us can get together and pig out and watch anime until our eyes bleed (Ouraaaaaan ♥).

So as I'm getting ready to leave, co-worker walks up to Kat, slaps her on the back hard enough that I can hear it from a couple of feet away, and says, "[Candy] isn't your friend anymore! She and [BG] are going out tonight without you!"

I want to die where I stand.

Kat looks ready to burst into tears.

And our co-worker is laughing her head off, like it's the funniest thing in the world, as she walks into the cooler.

...yeah. Definitely not going to be telling her anymore of my evening plans, that's for sure. This isn't the first time she's made a comment that had me going "Oh my god..." Up to and including today when she came about this close to badmouthing a customer to me WHILE THE CUSTOMER WAS STANDING THERE. I kept my head down and didn't say anything and hoped that the brim of my hat hid the fact that my eyes were about twice their normal size, in the sense of, "I really hope there's not a complaint filed for this..."

This woman is an idiot, a fairly proven liar at times, has a martyr complex the size of North Carolina (every story she tells begins with how she was trying to do something nice and oh, she's so persecuted), and half the time I don't think she has a friggin' clue what's coming out of her mouth. And now she managed to really hurt my best friend.

Kat, sweetie, I know your internet time is sketchy right now, but if you can get online and read this later, tell me a time when I can kidnap you for ice cream. My treat *hugstight* ILU ♥♥♥

Its impossible to get along with everyone at work. There's always that ONE person, at least, that is just friggin' unbearable e_e And it's kinda hard with best friends, but in the end, I highly doubt one night with another person is going to shift the friendship in any direction. (Especially your friends that love anime with you. They tend to be sweeter and much closer than just your average friends XD ) But I do hope it all gets sorted out!

Grrrr! I hate people like that! But, sometimes you just have to ignore annoying people such as that coworker. Don't let this put a damper on your holidays. ^-^

That just.. wow.. I agree with you there, that coworker was out of line.

With just the comment I would have immediately turned on my heel (towards them) and glared at the person while hugging my friend and making every friendship maneuver admissible in public towards my friend, all the while with a glare fixed on the other -_- and I'd make sure to firm the notion in their mind every time I had a chance. Non-aggressive standing up for friends.. and then every chance I remembered, I'd pray than the co-worker would get a clue about what they're doing.

The wok probably would have gotten dented as well, just from being used to drain the anger, not actually having been thrown at the coworker.

Hope you and Kat get a nice chance to hang out and nothing like this hurts your relationship either.
