candyland: (to the plot)

Having had a bit more time to ruminate on the series, I've decided that while I was not necessarily hooked in the beginning, nor will it grace my Top Anime List...I liked Escaflowne. It won me over by the end. I cared enough about the characters to want to know what happened to them, it had enough twists to keep me interested, and the last few episodes had me going "WHAT?" a lot. In a good way.

And it should surprise no one that I'm adding this here, being the nerd that I am, but Escaflowne has one of the most amazing scores I've ever heard. The music for this series is FANTASTIC, and after I finish this pointless post I'm hitting up Gendou to make me a CD and put it in my car for repeated listening, right next to the soundtrack for Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel ♥

Also, I have a plunnie for it. One that I rather like, and will hopefully write soon :D

Work today involved making pizzas. A lot of them. Like...upwards of seventy. Yay for sales! Or rather, yay for having advanced warning that the sale is coming so I can ultimately make upwards of two hundred pizzas ^^;;

My sister went back to school today while I was at work. I'm always a little sad to see her go, but at the same time...THE BATHROOM IS MINE AGAIN MOO HA HA! And now there isn't make-up all over the place, whee! But she made it back safely, so all's well~

An area code from Tampa, Florida (I assume it to be a telemarketing group of some sort) has somehow managed to get its grubby little meathooks on my cell phone number. I am extremely displeased about this.

I'm continuing my way through Lucky Star--currently a fourth of the way through. And I am convinced that it is the Napoleon Dynamite of anime, in that it is about absolutely nothing. Only difference is that Lucky Star is actually sort of entertaining *dodges thrown things, I'm sure*

...and for the moment, I think that's all I've got. I really need something interesting to happen to end the boring posts.

The singer for the OP to Escaflowne is Maaya Sakamoto. She's really good, and has done a lot of different things. Her album Nikopatchi (I think I spelled that right...) is available stateside--I picked it up at Borders last year. She sings some pretty awesome stuff! Everything from quiet ballad-like songs (in both English and Japanese) to bouncy upbeat pieces (for example, the first opening to Cardcaptor Sakura). *^_^*

Actually, she sings the third CCS OP (Platina), not the first one (Gumi sings Catch You Catch Me iirc). :3 Still, I also highly recommend Sakamoto's music.
