This is driving me nuts--according to the scale upstairs in our bathroom (which I am becoming increasingly convinced is totally wacked), I'm down fourteen pounds from when I started. According to the scale at work, the one I'm weighing in on, I'm down ten. I WANT A CONSISTENT NUMBER ;o;

Only down a pound as of this week's weigh-in. I must do better for next week D: *puts on running shoes and looks over DVDs for some treadmill viewing* I should get back on the anime...

I have torrented an audio-book of Coraline by Neil Gaiman for two related reasons. A) I want to read the book before I see the movie (which admittedly looks really, really awesome). B) My local library never seems to have the book on the shelves. So we're going this route. I did this with a bunch of books from LibriVox, and it's quite delightful!

Let's see...in other news, we can add "Twilight fans getting up in arms and accusing Stephen King of being jealous of Stephanie Meyer because he said that while her stories are good, her writing sucks" to my lengthy and ever-growing list of Things That Amuse Me. Because it does.

Especially the person (and there was at least one) who accused him of envying the movie's success. I offer The Green Mile in rebuttal for its Oscar nominations, great acting, and wonderful story, as well as its unfailing ability to make me weep like a heartbroken schoolgirl at the end. It hurts so good ♥

Coraline is an awesome book. I read it in about 7 hours because I just couldn't put it down. Also keep in mind that through all your working out that you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat.

I read Coraline in the bookstore a few weeks ago. Totally worth it. XD

I loved that book so much :'D Creepy yet fantastically disturbing <3 o neil gaiman y so awsum

Good going with your weight loss regime! :D :D :D *cheers you on Ouendan style, complete with cheesy j-pop ahaha*

pfffffff Mr. King is oh so correct |D While the plot is actually quite good (albeit embarrasing for actual vampires XDD), she kind of just fails to carry the story with her overly expressive writing and abuse of descriptive jargon.

Wait why am I sounding like a nerdy book critic now ._____.

1: Scales are evil. I have two that do the same thing. *growls*

2: Stephanie Meyer's writing physically hurts me. I read a few pages and it hurt.

Well, home scales aren't normally very accurate... So stick to one of them and record your weight. You best bet is the scale at work.

LOLOLOL @ Stephenie Meyer fans. I AGREE WITH STEPHEN KING.

Also, Green Mile MADE ME CRY LIKE A LITTLE GIRL. That never happens to me!!!! D:

*adds to her list too*

Ahhh~! Coraline! I loved, loved that book. It's so delightfully creepy and wonderful. I've been waiting so long for the movie.

And oh god, you've been doing so well with your treadmill thing. It's unbelievable! xD

One at work is more accurate as would have to be certified annually - ours did when we had the store. Agree the King versus Meyer deal is amusing. Isn't that a judgement call per your personal reading taste - I can't get enthused per either author. My reply to the deal is...Get a life!!!

I've heard nothing but good things about the movie, and seeing the trailers reminded me of the Nightmare Before Christmas, which is one of my all-time favorites ~♥

A bit more research has given me some new ideas. I wouldn't mind being quote-unquote "overweight" if it was all muscle. The tummy just doesn't seem to be wanting to go away, so I'm going to try some new things and shake it up a bit.

Since I'm going on a mini-roadtrip tomorrow, I might burn it onto CD and listen to it in the car :D

1: I might go dig my scale out of storage, since it's the same as the one at work. It can live in the downstairs bathroom!

2: Twilight failed my five-page test. Twice. I always feel like I should qualify my opinion by saying that I have nothing against people who do like it ^^;;

I think my scale from my apartment is the same type as the one they have at work, so I might go see if I can dig that out and keep it in the downstairs bathroom. Might be a bit closer.

Confession time: I never really got into Stephen King. The books are just a little too long for me, ya know? But to accuse him of jealousy? Yikes XD

...I'm one of those people who cries at sappy phone commercials, so I might be a bit emotionally biased *laugh* But yeah--I sobbed at the end ;o; Such a good movie~

That's a good point--plus for the challenge, it's the official weigh-in that matters the most ^^;;

I have nothing against people who enjoy it--my favorite is still Cassie saying that her response was "This is shit! *turns page* ...yup, still shit." It's just that the crazy ones are...well, vocal. I don't care for either author either ^^;;

Why are the batshit ones always the most vocal? And really, the old jealousy argument is so tired and trollish. It was getting lobbed around at Nora Roberts when she spoke out on the Cassie Edwards plagiarism scandal, too, even though--SURPRISE--Nora was herself a victim of plagiarism.

Silly people~

I'm going on a mini-roadtrip tomorrow, so I think I'm going to burn Coraline onto CD and listen to it in the car! The movie looks fantastic, and my f-list has been raving about it, so I'm excited. Might have to see if Kat and Rach want to go~

Thank you, lovey! :D

I'm putting it on CD to listen to in the car while I'm out driving around tomorrow. I'll be spending quite a bit of time in the car, so I'm happy for listening stuffs! I have never read anything of his... *ashamedfaise*

Thank you! *squeesh* ♥♥♥ I'm going to be trying some new things soon, so hopefully they will get posted here as successes!

I've seen a lot of people say that if the writing was better and the story went more towards the dark (Edward's obsession, and Bella...not being a fluffy-headed idiot), then it could have truly been the book of the year and a great piece of literature. And I think I agree.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! :D

*grins* You have to because then you'd have something against me! *le gasp* Candy, how could you?

Though, I'll be the first to say that Meyer is definitely not a great writer. The stories are pure guilty pleasures but I like them *shrug* Whatever. I've got plenty of literary street cred.

Congrats on the fitness! While I am sure you are going about this in a healthy way, after the first week or so more than a pound or two of weight loss might be too much. Just be careful, is all. *hugs*
