I got in about an hour of working out today. I popped in a Mythbusters DVD (yay for exploding pants!) and started doing lat-pulls and leg presses on the resistance machine. Before I knew it, forty minutes had gone by XD Then I did my Jillian Michaels shred for the day.
I know it probably sounds crazy after only three days, but I already feel a difference. It's not so much weight loss (though I haven't weighed yet) as it is endurance. The first day I did it, I didn't make it through everything, I kept having to stop, I nearly shut it off. Now I'm on day three, and the only exercise I can't seem to make it through is the jump rope part of the first cardio circuit. Although the muscles in my upper legs are still sort of sore--thank god for electric massagers! :D
And I am noticing a change in two areas. Number one, my pants are getting looser (as evidenced by the fact that when I was doing jumping jacks I actually had to keep dropping my arms to pull my PJ pants back up), which is a good sign. And number two, since I've been doing more on the weight machine (as well as the strength training on the Shred DVD), the muscles in my upper arms are really developing. I'm not ripped or buff or anything, but seriously--I flex, and there's actual muscle there! You can feel it! :D
...now that I have bored you all to tears, let's move on XD
Yeah, today really was unproductive. I'm picking Pokemon Diamond back up, having started it in March of 2008. I'm just now getting to Dialga. But I did catch all the Unown today! All twenty-eight of them! PHEAR ME. Or something... *has DS sitting on my knee right now*
Oh! And the other exciting bit of news is travel related:
kaitodoushi and I are going out to visit
lwyn next month! Unless something happens with Kat's new job that would keep her from going, which would make me cry ;o; Going out there is cool in and of itself, 'cause we're going to get to meet her kitty, Loki, and do fun stuff, but here's the best part.
WE'RE GOING BY TRAIN.
Our initial plan was just to drive. But when I brought it up to my parents, they suggested taking a train, pointing out that once you figure in everything (gas, stopping for meals, wear on the car, etc.), and compare it to the cost of round-trip train tickets, it's really not that much more expensive to take Amtrak. Neither of us has ever been on a train like this before! I don't know about Kat, but I'm excited! \o/
Please let that thing with her new job work out please please pleeeeeeeeease...
Only other news of interest at this moment is that Kat and I are going to see Coraline on Saturday. And get dinner, and do stuff, and...give my really annoying co-worker a ride home because the other cook is doing something with her daughter ~_~ Yay for girls' night out! Except for the part about my co-worker.
Long post is long. I'm in a good mood :D

Date: 2009-02-12 06:01 am (UTC)I'm honestly trying not to get my mind into the plans until I find out if I can go. I'm not even sure what my hours would be like yet. Well, early in the morning I think, but how many days a week. Monday through Friday at the most.

Date: 2009-02-12 11:35 pm (UTC)I'm doing the same, more or less. And I had Wi-Fi for a bit, but the wireless connection at our house isn't compatible with the one on DS, so I can't get on the Wi-Fi here ;o;

Date: 2009-02-13 03:28 am (UTC)I don't want to look like I have cantaloupes hidden in my upper arms either, but I would like to look toned ^_~ So that's what I'm going for. If you don't have weights, use milk-jugs or water bottles!
For jogging...I usually go about three miles an hour for a nice brisk walk. As for how long, we have a DVD player in front of our treadmill, so I try to walk for an entire episode of, say, Mythbusters or Numb3rs or something, which is about forty-five minutes.
And the video...oh lord, the first couple of days will kill you, but your endurance builds FAST. I guess my advice for any sort of weight loss endeavor is to get your friends and family involved, because they can help you. And most importantly, don't give up! \o/
