Welcome new faces from the latest friending meme on
professorlayon! *hands out shiny silver cyber donuts, enough for everyone!*
I was clicking through some random entries in my memories today, and I noticed something. In the daily world, if someone gives a compliment, it's likely to be things like, "Good." "Nice work." "Well done." And things of that ilk.
In fandom, however, when someone gives a compliment, it's things like, "Epic win!" "Have an internets!" "I give you pie for this!" "I maded you a chocolate baby!" "You win at life!" And so on and so forth. And this is why I stay in fandom. It's so much more colorful and fun!
Tomorrow is my last day in Chinese. Thank GOD. I mean, it's sort of...nostalgic, I guess, since I've been working back there for vacations and things for six years now. And I don't think the new manager has yet been trained on Italian, so I wish everyone good luck. I'll just continue with the semi-nostalgic feeling.
And speaking of nostalgia, every once in a while I get a weird urge to go and listen to songs of my younger days. Remembering things, singing along with lyrics that I am sometimes ashamed to admit I still remember, enjoying the little skip down memory lane. It's pure nostalgia.
It is for that reason that I am TOTALLY NOT ASHAMED to say that I put some NSYNC and Backstreet Boys songs on my mp3 player this afternoon and curled up to listen. I am now ignoring the sound of all of you collectively judging me 8D
Public Service Announcement Tiemz: I'm going to hold off on the rest of the alphabet meme fills until the first of May, when
summerwrite2 starts, so I can has something to get me started. Ideally will fill the rest of them the first day. Please be patient, and there will be ficcage!
And now I should probably go to bed. I gots work tomorrow, and last night I did not sleep very well.

Date: 2009-04-26 01:00 pm (UTC)I saw a cooking demonstration once...this lady was showing a chocolate pie recipe, and she held the bowl really high up when she was pouring it into the crust. She said that calories are cowards. They're afraid of heights. So if you hold the bowl up high, they'll get scared and cling to the side of the bowl and they won't end up in the pie ^_____^
