Accomplishments of the last couple days!

~ Finished Good Omens. I'm a teensy bit WTF on the ending, but overall I liked it.

~ Cleaned the downstairs bathroom. And I do mean cleaned--scrubbed, washed, the whole nine yards. I even ran the shower curtain liner through the washing machine. Twice. Let's see how long it lasts, insert comment about my sister here, etc.

~ Made chicken quesadillas. I make some damn fine chicken quesadillas. Which my sister apparently likes now. Go fig. Oh well, there was more than enough to go around.

~ Finished watching what we have on DVD of Bones, which is the first three seasons. Thanks and apologies to [livejournal.com profile] ammchan, [livejournal.com profile] starkmaximum, and [livejournal.com profile] magicbulletgirl for letting me flail wildly and beat on things with tiny fists all over various chat windows while I watched the conclusion of the Gormogon arc. Now THAT is how you do a season finale, and yes, I'm looking at you, season two.

And then I emo'd in the proverbial corner for what they did to one of my favorite characters~ *shakes Fist of Righteous Indignation at the writers* Next on my viewing list: NCIS!

~ Conan fic began to form something that sort of looks like a plot. Fear me.

And now I should go bathe. Work at four, whoo monies!

The last part just got sort of weird, but I did like the book and the humor and everything. I hereby vow to read more of their work :D *plops down with Discworld*

The ending is rather strange. I think it might be more Neil Gaiman than Terry Pratchett... You'll see what I mean if you ever read any of Neil's short stories.

Enjoy your Discworld~

I thought the ending seemed more the style of Coraline which would, indeed, be Gaiman. It was a good ending, and I really enjoyed the book. It was just...odd XD

I need to also get through The Graveyard Book. Had that one on the burner for a while.

I keep meaning to read The Graveyard Book. The problem is, I feel bad about downloading books illegally and I can't go to the library anymore due to, well, owing them money. >> One of these days I expect it will come out in paperback...

I've tried to get The Graveyard Book at the library, and it always seems to be checked out. So I sort of found the audio-book on a torrent website >_>;; If I like it, I'll buy the book. I just haven't gotten to B&N lately to pick up a copy of Coraline.

I guess with it winning the Newbury or whatever award that was, it's in popular demand. XD I don't blame you for torrenting. I would do it myself but I find it difficult to concentrate on audiobooks.

I listened to Coraline during a short road-trip one day. Put it on CD and away I went. It was actually really nice to listen to while driving. Problem with TGB is that the parts are each forty-eight minutes long. So that's one part per CD. Not terribly economical ^^;;

I might start listening to it while I write or am sitting at my computer. Nice and relaxing. I can't function without background noise. Silence drives me crazy XD

Though I guess if you had rewritable CDs that might work well?

I've tried it at the computer, but either I have to concentrate on the story I'm writing, or the audiobook. Not both. /attentionfail

Yeah, I'm thinking of picking up a rewritable CD or two. I just hope my car plays them, since I know some car CD players don't like rewritables. But that would be a good way to do it if it works.

I feel like I should be dangling shiny objects in fronts of you :3c

fffff I've never heard of that. Lame. Bad car CD players.

I would poke at them, really. Just ask Tat. She used to think it was hilarious.

I'd like to think that technology has improved beyond that point XD Okay, decision made, I am going to go see if I can find a couple of rewritable discs and use my commute as reading time!

You're like a kitty! *uses a mirror to make lights flicker on the wall* :D

Part of me sort of wishes they had done more with it. It was such a fascinating idea with so much potential for true epicness...and it got three episodes. But the twist at the end was TOTALLY EPIC. Even though I was all bawwwwww at the twist TT^TT

They do go back and address some of it in season four, too. (I can't remember to what extent though.)

I tried the rewritables. My car wouldn't read them XD Oh well. Backup plan: adapter for my mp3 player! Which I know works. It's just a bit more effort XD Or listen to a chapter a night before I go to sleep.

*scritches behind your ears* So cute~ :3c
