Quick post about work before work!
Nov. 24th, 2010 10:21 amOh god, work, what are you doing to me?
On Sunday, there were three of us there - two techs and a pharmacist, as is par for the weekends. Between 9:50 and about 1:45, we did 77 prescriptions. Between 1:45 and probably...3:30-ish? WE DID FOOKIN' 81 PRESCRIPTIONS. I was counting and handling the drive-through, Other Tech was handling the front counter (where she was at least six deep for the entire two hours), and Pharmacist was entering scrips in the computer and checking at the speed of light.
Afterwards, we all took a breath and double-checked everything. All was well. WE MADE IT!
I arrived on Monday, ready to start my shift at nine...only to find that the power was out. The store was running on back-up/emergency lights. Turns out there was a transformer(ROBOTS IN DISGUISE!) fire at the other end of the mall, and power was out all over the area. So electronic prescribing and the fax machine were both down, plus we were having register problems, and...GROWL.
I did get called a sweetheart about ten seconds after walking in, though, because I'm willing to organize things into baskets and other little tasks. That was kind of nice!
And then yesterday...oh god. I worked at noon-thirty. Got up, had breakfast, did some stuff. Then I got a little drowsy. Figured I'd take a quick power nap before work, so I set my phone alarm to wake me up at noon.
I opened my eyes, my bedside clock said 12:32. My phone had shut itself off.
...ever sleep on your leg weird and get a dead leg? Like, beyond pins and needles into full-on non-feeling? Yeah. I had that, and I didn't realize it until I tried to get up in a panic, and found myself on the floor. So since there is no phone reception in the basement, I crawled up the stairs on my hands and one knee to call my work. Got there twenty minutes late @_@
I'm usually early getting there (stop down, drop my stuff, grab my labcoat, etc., before I go punch in), so they let me slide with only mild teasing and questions about how my nap was *laugh*
And then we had a repeat of Sunday's stampede, but with more people working. I didn't move from the drive-through for probably an hour. Saving grace, folks. Saving grace.
And now it's time for me to head in for day seven of my seven-day stretch. FOUR DAY WEEKEND STARTS AT SEVEN O'CLOCK TONIGHT, BITCHES. I'm hoping it'll be dead so she'll let me go early. I have a couple of errands to run ;)
Ciao!
Also, I have now seen both The Last Airbender and the Twilight movie. My horror cannot be expressed in words.
