Since I have been a teeny bit lax about updating, here's a quick recap of the last couple of days. Cut for slight rambling and the sake of your f-lists ;D

- Sleeping in until eleven is always a great way to start your day!

- At the fastest lunch in history--had fifteen minutes to do so and get to practice.

- Voice lesson went really well, I daresay. I'm starting to get things memorized--one month 'till senior recital!! *hides under bed* Nuuuu...too soooooooon...

- Visual Basic was uber-boring, as usual.

- NO CHOIR! We got two days off from band and choir rehearsals because of the Homecoming concert. As much as I love my music (and I do), it was nice to have the break, considering how hard we worked for that performance =D

- Spent my extra free hour hanging out in the Cent Room with various people ([profile] jewelsybear1017 and [profile] ashleymouse and Matt and others). French dip sandwiches for dinner--so much love! I don't really like soggy bread, so I get the meat and a bowl of the au jus and marinate it. DELICIOUS!

- Mandy the RD cancelled our staff meeting because of how much work we all put in last week for Homecoming. I do love my staff, but I was thrilled to have evening free, not gonna lie ♥

- Talked on the phone with Torie for forty-five minutes, discussing weekend plans =DDD

- Played Scratches, this uber-creepy computer game I picked up this summer. I'm determined to beat it soon! I made it a decent way through the game...got majorly freaked out during the part where I had to go in the basement, but something tells me I ain't seen nothing yet @_@ Will let you know if anything happens that makes me scream or sleep with the lights on. It's possible.

- Chatted with people until the wee hours of the morning...which probably wasn't the wisest thing I've ever done. *shakes fist at the sky* SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK!! *falls over* *snore snore snooooore*

- Didn't get enough sleep, and nearly fell asleep during my first two classes x_x Managed to keep my eyelids propped open through the majority of things, though.

- Had my one-on-one with Deb, the Director of Res Life. It was pretty awesome--Deb is uber-cool. And I now have ideas for some stuff to do on my floor, too! They're all really sweet girls, they just tend to keep to themselves ^_^

- Ate lunch with Matt and Kali. BBQ pork sandwiches, turky tetrazzini, and cheesecake equals YUM!

- ...there were flurries. As in snow. To borrow a phrase from Jeva...wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry?!?!?

- Chamber choir was pretty relaxed ^^

- Taught a lesson in Methods. Was startled to realize that I could play all the parts on the piano, and play them well. Cue the happy dance! I got cut short because we ran out of time in class, but overall she said I did very well. My assignment for Friday? Teach the same lesson, only better! So basically...yeah, just do the same thing, and actually get to my second song--which means I have zero homework for Methods!!!

- Voice practice with Deanna, the world's most awesome accompanist. She's so much fun! I want to be just like her when I grow up...I was really tired, though, so we called it quits five minutes early. I went back down to the Cent Room and hung out for half an hour until choir.

- Back to the musical grind! Got new music in choir. Our major work is YET ANOTHER Requiem, this one by Faure. We went through the first movement. Maybe it's just that last year's major work, John Rutter's Requiem, was so effin' incredible...but thus far, I'm not horrendously impressed. I'm reserving judgement, though--it took me a couple weeks to warm up to the Rutter, and it's now one of my favorite choral works. We also got this Gloria arrangement--it has this vaguely African quality to it, like what you'd think of with African rhythms and such. Not sure what I think of that one yet, but I think it might be cool once we get it all together (kinda like most Mozart pieces--they suck when you're learning parts, but when everything goes together, it's usually glorious!).

- Band rehearsal. We got our new music for the next concert. I can't remember all the pieces, but one of them is a Holsinger. It's very reminiscient of "Cityscapes," a piece we played last year that was hell to learn, but fun to listen to. AND WE'RE DOING NABUCCO!! *ahem* Nabucco is an opera by Verdi. My exposure to it was hearing the Ten Tenors sing one of the arias from it, called "Va Pensiero." It has the most beautiful melody...and we have that melody. A major portion of the piece is that melody *sparkles*

- Had a really quick dinner with [profile] ashleymouse and other people. The chef salad wrap was delicious.

- Raced back to my room to pick up and get stuff ready. Anna came down so I could set her hair in hot rollers for her. I am generally hair-stupid, but show choir taught me how to do hot rollers extremely well. I'd never done those long bendy rollers before, but I think I love them, and might have to purchase a set for myself ♥ We watched part of the Ghost Hunters marathon while we were doing this. It took about twenty minutes--she has a lot of hair, and wanted a lot of curl. So lotsa rollers...and hairspray. At least it was Aussie, that stuff smells good ^_^

- Was on duty, but I asked my duty partner if she would mind if I snuck out for twenty minutes to make a Wal-Mart run. Duckie gave the okay, handed me ten bucks, and asked me to pick up a calculator for her, which we did. AND I GOT NEW SOCKS!! *luffs* I generally don't like socks, but my feet have been cold lately.

- Watched the season premiere of Ghost Hunters with [profile] ashleymouse and [profile] jewelsybear1017. They were in Tombstone, Arizona, which is one of the most haunted places in the country, if rumors and stories are to be believed. We were not disappointed *joygasms* IT WAS AWESOME!! I'm on duty on Wednesdays anyway, so I'll just make it a part of my Wednesday night routine!

- Did laundry with [profile] jewelsybear. I now have clean clothes, which is a celebration in and of itself!

- Played Word Race on Slingo. I actually beat a round completely--got all the words! Never done that before! *dances*

- Got motivated and did a bunch of my homework for Friday. Religions is done, had nothing to do for Methods, and the annotated bib for Art History is half-done. I have six sources cited and four annotated. Just need to cite four more, and annotate the other six, and I'm good to go.

- Chatted again until late. Opened window to let in cool air, and turned on heater to slowly warm room before going to sleep. That way I'll be cool when I fall asleep, and warm when I wake up. Slept like a rock.

- Woke up freezing. My heater was spewing cold air. GAH. Closed window and killed the air. Then went to take shower. Coming back into the cold room does not equal fun.

- One-on-one with Mandy the RD over breakfast. Tasty!

- Practiced piano. Felt rather confident in my playing, because "Fa Una Canzona" was suddenly cooperating.

- Took a break to check email and LJ. Found that there was server maintenance going on. No internet. NUUUUUUUU!!

- Played through piano stuff again. Went really well--was feeling very optimistic.

- Got into lesson. Couldn't play a fekin' NOTE of "Fa Una Canzona." My accompaniment piece went well, though!

- Went down to lunch and joined [profile] jewelsybear1017, where the internet came back. A BLT and some nachos equal a good lunch. And that's where I am right now, waiting until class starts at 1:30. So about twenty more minutes ^^

I'm pretty proud of myself for getting so much stuff done last night, even if it doesn't sound like a lot. I'm hoping I can get another four or five sources listed on my annotated bib during the rest of the day (possibly in band), so tonight I can focus on getting my paperwork finished for my student teaching application--kept putting it off, and now it's due tomorrow ^^;; Bad me, no biscuit.

Otherwise...I need to clean Kaito's fishbowl. [profile] jewelsybear1017 said she'd watch him for me while I was out this weekend. And then I need to pack. For those I hadn't mentioned this to, I'm going to be gone from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon/evening. My friend Torie is getting married, and I'm a bridesmaid in her wedding--I'm uber-excited because I've never been in a wedding before! So I'm truckin' on down to Kansas City, MO for the weekend for shopping and girl stuff. I am tres excited!

I also need to get my bulletin board done--it's one I did last year on famous hauntings, so I just need to reprint, reassemble, and beef up a bit more, and it'll be perfect for Halloween. As nerdy as it sounds, I'm probably going to print the stuff and take it to KC with me. We're doing a movie night for sure, and Torie told me to bring it, she'd like to see what I'm working on. I feel nerdy, but it really does need to get done. I just need a couple more ghost stories... *strikes pose* TO THE SHADOWLANDS!

Okay, time to go to class. Hopefully I will have something of substance later. AND MAY MY ROOM BE WARM!!
