And now, a play...
Nov. 10th, 2006 09:37 amA play in one act, by me
[The curtain opens to reveal a slightly messy college dorm room. The resident college student (who really doesn't care that her room is a bit messy right now) is curled up in bed, sound asleep, snuggled beneath her electric blankie, which she has lovingly named Cuddles. It is a peaceful, quiet scene. The student sleeps without a care.]
[The sound of an alarm clock is heard.]
[The college student jolts awake and looks around for a moment before realizing what's going on. She rolls out of bed and staggers across the room, muttering something that sounds like, "Braaaaaaaaaaaaains..." as she fumbles with her alarm clock. Finally, she manages to get it turned off. Fortunately, she'd set her cell phone alarm the night before, and so crawls back into bed with Cuddles for another twenty minutes of much needed sleep.]
Twenty minutes later...
[A cell phone alarm sounds.]
[The college student wakes up again. She grudgingly sits up and glances out the window to see what the day looks like...only to realize that she can't see out the window because of some strange white film there.]
College student: What in the world...did my window fog up?
[She looks down at Ari, her beloved laptop, to see if she has any email alerts...and sees that the weather dealie at the bottom of her Firefox window reads "Now: Heavy snow, 32 degrees F."]
College student: *swears under her breath* *realizes she needs to go shower and get ready for class*
[She yanks on her bathrobe, grabs her shower stuff, and heads towards the bathroom. On the way there, however, she detours into the lounge next door where she looks out the window. This window is slightly covered, but she can still see the snow outside. There seems to be quite a bit of it.]
College student: *curses again because A) she is supposed to drive half an hour to observation today, and B) today is her senior recital and she just doesn't feel like dealing with this right now*
[Still grumbling, the irritated student heads off to take a shower.]
[The curtain closes as she walks through the bathroom door because it's not that kind of play.]
[Applause.]
As a result of the scene ending there, you don't get to see the part where the college student gets her Art History test back. And so you get to miss some nice angsting over that little grade ;-; Pathetic thing is that I actually studied. But yup, senior recital tonight! You'll all know how I did as soon as I get back to my room. Guaranteed >.>
EDIT: Well, the school we were supposed to observe at had a two hour late start. And my observation partner, Leah, is stuck at home because of the snow (she doesn't live on campus). So no observation today. YAYS! Wonder if that can excuse me from Madrigal...I really don't feel like going. I feel like taking a nap ~.~;;
