Fic pimpage ^_^

A couple days ago, I posted some some journal-age from my Creative Writing class with the promise that it would soon become full-fledged ficcage. And yay for me on the alliteration front!

I actually started the story about four months ago, but it took that bit of journaling to get my Muses to come back from their coffee break and actually do some goddamn work. I don't usually do this, but I'm really proud of this story, so I'm going to toot my own horn a bit *honk honk* For your reading pleasure, it's up on ff.net under the title Sorrowful Soul. Thus far, it stands as the longest single one-shot I've penned. I also send out copious amounts of my love to ladyerisnos for beta-ing, and msbbt for being my sounding board. I luuuuuuuuuurv you both!!

Band conversation...

I am half of the euphonium section in band. Today, he let everyone except the woodwinds, the horns, and us go early because he wanted to work with us on this one particular song. Well, Jo and I had about eight measures of actual playing...and then forty measures with nothing. We had a short discussion over the idea that we should start bringing a deck of playing cards to band with us. But the frustrating part was that he would stop juuuuuuuust before we were supposed to start playing. This happened probably half a dozen times, and we were getting really antsy. This was the conversation that happened after Director-Type Person stopped just before we played for the sixth time...

Me: Come ON!!! We have to stay for nothing!!
Jo: You know, your face is getting really red.
Me: My head is going to explode at the rate this is going!!
Jo: Cool! Fireworks!
Me: Bright RED fireworks...
Jo: *looks at me in disgust before starting to giggle* Ewwww...

Any fellow band members, you now have a basic idea as to why the two ladies of the euphonium section are always giggling during rehearsal. We have fun, and we amuse ourselves. Euphoniums are sexy back-row love!!
