candyland: (hugs)
...I reeeeeally dun wanna have staff development all day today ;o; Especially because it's over curriculum mapping, and being new, I don't have a curriculum map yet. This is going to be long. I just hope this guest person we've got coming in is a good speaker (and by "good speaker," I mean "informative and somewhat entertaining," you know?)

I'm sort of rar right now--went to Ottumwa to get some shopping done yesterday. Realized that I forgot one thing on the drive home (a slip to go under my new skirt). Realized I forgot something else when I got home and saw a related item (a binder for some stuff). Realized I forgot a third item last night when I was thinking about an activity I'm doing with my middle schoolers on Wednesday (flyswatters--yes, you read that right). Aaaaand realized I forgot a fourth thing this morning when I put my contacts in (rewetting drops--I like by 'em).

So...I forgot four things v_v;; I suck. And honestly, I wouldn't worry about it...except I need the flyswatters for Wednesday. So I HAVE to go get those, and I might as well grab the rest of it while I'm there *shrug* Figure I'll breeze over there right after school and get it and be done with it.

[livejournal.com profile] cherelle_holmes is doing [livejournal.com profile] 30_kisses!! She put in her claim this morning to draw Heiji/Kazuha for the challenge! THIS MAKES ME A HAPPY CANDY-CHAN!! :D :D :D

Last night, thanks to a chat with [livejournal.com profile] fyliwionvilyaer and [livejournal.com profile] magicbulletgirl, I think I have enough plunnies to carry me to #51 on [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100. And while I'm at it, I haven't posted a sneak peek in a while...I should post a snippet of that next Apartment fic...

If anyone has pairings/prompts for DC/MK, feel free to throw 'em my way. I'm formulating my plan of attack ^_~

So. Staff development today. It was long. And...long.

Okay, the speaker today was talking to us about curriculum mapping. And honestly, she was a really good speaker. But...we were sitting on cafeteria benches in a very warm gym...from eight AM to 3:15 PM. By the time three o'clock rolled around, she even stopped and said it was time to wrap up because our eyes were all glazed over and we were giving her these blank, glassy looks.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I'm attention deficit. ADHD, to be specific. It's usually under control, but when I have to sit for too long with nothing to do...I get really, really antsy. I tend to function best when I have something in my hands--which might be the reason why I love knitting as much as I do.

So I survived the day. It was tough, and I hit my limit a little before two, so I absorbed NOTHING from the last hour-fifteen, hour and a half of the session. It was all in one ear and out the other.

...do you think they'd let me have my knitting with me at the next staff development? :D

Tomorrow I have a mentor meeting, and I need to make chicken quesadillas for it. Boo hissss... *doesn't feel like cooking* And THEN there's a Music Booster meeting on Thursday night. I AM TIRED OF MEETINGS THIS WEEK. NO MORE PLEEZ.

In other news...I GOT MY NEW NANCY DREW GAME!! The package came today. And the reviews I've been reading say that it's the best game in a long time. So I'm quite eager to play it. So... *whispers* I'm playing ahead on the marathon. Today was supposed to be game #11, Curse of Blackmoor Manor. I'm currently playing #12, Secret of the Old Clock. And if I finish this game tonight (which is very possible, because it's one of the shorter games in the series), I'll probably get started on Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon.

Soon, my precious...soon, I will play you...

...ahem.

Oh, and I got smurfy new shoes today. Black boots. WITH HEELS! :D

*goes back to gaming and knitting* Poke me if you need me!! ^_______^
