My eyes are still sort of glazed over...
Oct. 2nd, 2007 07:09 pmSo. Staff development today. It was long. And...long.
Okay, the speaker today was talking to us about curriculum mapping. And honestly, she was a really good speaker. But...we were sitting on cafeteria benches in a very warm gym...from eight AM to 3:15 PM. By the time three o'clock rolled around, she even stopped and said it was time to wrap up because our eyes were all glazed over and we were giving her these blank, glassy looks.
I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I'm attention deficit. ADHD, to be specific. It's usually under control, but when I have to sit for too long with nothing to do...I get really, really antsy. I tend to function best when I have something in my hands--which might be the reason why I love knitting as much as I do.
So I survived the day. It was tough, and I hit my limit a little before two, so I absorbed NOTHING from the last hour-fifteen, hour and a half of the session. It was all in one ear and out the other.
...do you think they'd let me have my knitting with me at the next staff development? :D
Tomorrow I have a mentor meeting, and I need to make chicken quesadillas for it. Boo hissss... *doesn't feel like cooking* And THEN there's a Music Booster meeting on Thursday night. I AM TIRED OF MEETINGS THIS WEEK. NO MORE PLEEZ.
In other news...I GOT MY NEW NANCY DREW GAME!! The package came today. And the reviews I've been reading say that it's the best game in a long time. So I'm quite eager to play it. So... *whispers* I'm playing ahead on the marathon. Today was supposed to be game #11, Curse of Blackmoor Manor. I'm currently playing #12, Secret of the Old Clock. And if I finish this game tonight (which is very possible, because it's one of the shorter games in the series), I'll probably get started on Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon.
Soon, my precious...soon, I will play you...
...ahem.
Oh, and I got smurfy new shoes today. Black boots. WITH HEELS! :D
*goes back to gaming and knitting* Poke me if you need me!! ^_______^

Date: 2007-10-03 02:07 am (UTC)I know what you mean about needing to keep your hands busy. If I'm drawing, or writing, I can sit still for a lot longer than if I have nothing to work with. I just go nuts.
Yay getting the new game! X3 And black boots! With my bad equilibrium, I'd probably fall off the heels. XD

Date: 2007-10-03 03:32 am (UTC)I wish I could've had my knitting out there with me. The only time I would have been distracted was when I had to count stitches, which happens when I cast on. Then I would have been totally focused ^^;;
Yup! *pets* I will hopefully be caught up and playing it soon! Ehehe...These are fairly thick heels, which means better balance for clumsy Candy-chans ^^;;

Date: 2007-10-03 05:25 am (UTC)OMG , do you also have a thing wit ADHD? It's very weird, because especially my friends thinks I have it, but the doctors says I haven't got it??
(which means, I'm hyper. Very often)
I really don't like you talking about Nancy Drew. I want to play it. Now. Very now :'(

Date: 2007-10-03 02:51 pm (UTC)Yup! I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was little. As I've grown up, I've gotten it much more under control, but every once in a while it pops up and makes things difficult--especially in situations like yesterday where I have to sit still for a long period of time. I heard someone describe it once as the "inability to be bored," and I'd say that's VERY true.
YAY HYPER!! I enjoy my hyperness most of the time ^_~
D: *hugs* You can download the games from the internet--they have a digital store? *g* I STILL LUFF YOU!! ~♥♥♥
