candyland: (NOTHING HAPPENED)
Happy Independence Day to all my fellow USA-ers! \o/ Go enjoy your grill-outs and fireworks and the day off and...stuff! :D *has to work tonight, wooooooooes~ ;o;

I'm okay now ^_^ Sorry about that.

All right, so now the fun stuff I was going to post yesterday! [livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi and I have been getting together at every possible opportunity to play the third Phoenix Wright game, and yesterday was another of our all-day marathons. It is both awesome and sad that playing from ten-thirty AM to four-thirty PM does not quite get us through an entire case ^^;; But eh, we're doing voices too. It's funnier that way *laugh*

Best quotes of yesterday:

ARMSTRONG: I remember a man who flirts with me. Especially in court.
ME/KAT: *set DS-es aside, faceplant into convenient pillows, and scream LOUDLY*

ME: Aww, Gumshoe has a crush on Maggey! Wait. That means he’s—ACK!
*later*
GUMSHOE: Wh-what? No! It’s not like that! He’s not my type!
ME: Oh my god, Gumshoe IS bi!
KAT: I never really thought Gumshoe was bi. I always thought he was just gay for Edgeworth.

ARMSTRONG: I am a timid little girl inside! A timid little girl!
KAT/ME: *in perfect, unplanned unison* We knew that.

ARMSTRONG: *as read by Kat in a bad French accent* Besides, z’is time it was not la small trinket, oui? It was fifty thousand dollars!
ME: …five hundred thousand dollars.
KAT: *still in awful accent* Whatever!

*Kat has been reading this one character (nameless as yet) in a Mr. T voice*
MAYA: On December 3rd, meeting with The Tiger?
PHOENIX: The T-Tiger?
ME: The guy we met in the park! The fake Phoenix!
KAT: …wow! He really is Mr. T!

And I didn't write this one down exactly, but there was that point where Jean Armstrong is talking about taking the sandalwood oil and rubbing it all over his entire body. I closed my DS and screamed at it for that horrendous mental image. Then I opened my DS...and had to do it again because I was reading Phoenix and he was all "MY EYES!!"

...why was he standing there watching that, anyway? *SHOT*

We started out in the living room, then moved into my room because it was cooler (CURSE YOU, IOWA SUMMER! *shakes fist at sky*), and since my computer is in here we could actually jot down stuff we said. Which is always fun to look back on \o/

I work tonight from four to close, and then tomorrow from eight AM to four. Then Kat and I want to go play more ^^;; We also close together at work on Sunday. PERFECT OPPORTUNITY FOR PLAYINGS, AMIRITE? :D

*bounces around* Lord, I'm tired...

All righty, so it's the Fourth of July. And I work in a place that sells Chinese food and pizza. D'ya think we're terribly busy on good ol' Independence Day? I daresay...NOT. I have worked every Fourth since I've been working there, and the night shift is almost always dead to the "why are we open?" degree.

I started at four. It was me and two of the cooks, so I knew it was going to at least going to be a productive night in terms of everyone doing their fair share o' work. That's always really nice. We were really, really slow, and got permission to close at six. So we started pulling stuff and sweeping and scrubbing stuff down...

And then a family showed up wanting two dinners for four *laugh* Luckily, they were okay with what we had in the case and more or less cleaned us out (which meant less work for us, yay!). We had a couple other people stop by, and we got them what they needed, and shut it down very quickly with all three of us going at it. I clocked out at 7:18 PM. Grabbed a burger on the way home--currently have the house to myself because my sister is at work and my parents are at a movie.

Tomorrow I work eight-thirty-ish to four, and Mom suggested that we should all go up to Hy-Vee for an early breakfast, which is awesomely awesome. Means I get to start the day with a nice big breakfast in my tummy, and occupy my morning with handling the truck stuff and taking care of the pizza case.

When I get off work, I'm going home to take a quick shower and change, and then [livejournal.com profile] kaitodoushi and I are doing some hangage. And play lawyers. As usual. We're also going to hopefully get some play-time in on Sunday, since we're closing together at work. Oh, that reminds me--Kat! Schedule's up, and Tuesday and Thursday are free, just like this past week! Except we don't close together on Sunday, woe ;o; But we can has play, y/y?

Plunnies are tentatively returning. I had a burst of inspiration this morning and scrawled out a fic, and I actually have another idea brewing. Would someone pleeeeeeeeease tell me why in the hell I have a Cooking Mama plunnie? Cooking Mama doesn't even have a PLOT! *flops* But the story this morning...I kept misspelling "bride" as "bridge" (just did it again!), and I'm not sure why.

Also--Jolly Rancher soda. It's not bad. And neither is this burger I am merrily devouring *OM NOM NOM* And ah, the sounds of pretty 'splosions in the sky outside. Even though fireworks are illegal in Iowa *laugh* Always go off near our house on the appropriate holidays.

...MY BORINGNESS, LET ME SHOW YOU IT.
