I am thankful :)

According to Jerry--and his word is pretty damn near law--we are all required to go home, eat at least our own body weight in food, and come back at least five pounds heavier. Ain't Thanksgiving wonderful?
In honor of the holiday (which, as I write this, I'm one hour into), here's my little list. Time to get a little sappy...
- My family (Mom and Dad--greatest parents in the world, no competition. You guys always support me, you are my friends and guides, and by God, I am going to make you proud. Bug--you are an awesome little sister, even if we do argue sometimes, and I love you to death!)
- My friends (You are my family away from home, and my brothers and sisters in every way but blood. I love and treasure all of you, and owe you more than I will ever be able to repay. There are far too many of you to name here individually, so I give you all a collective hug and noogie!!)
- Life in general (It ain't easy, but dammit, I'm taking this sow's ear and making it into something that I could carry with me to a nice dinner party--maybe something silk?)
- School (Sort of a necessary evil. But I've met the most amazing people and had some unforgettable experiences, both good and bad. I've studied, worked, played, argued, laughed, and cried my way through two and a half years here, and still found time to play in the snow, dance with the Oompa Loompa eighth-notes, and put the earmuffs on the cookie!)
- My music (My passion, my future, and one of my sanity-savers...where would I be without you? Nobody answer that, I don't even WANT to know the speculations...)
- My writing (Another of my sanity-savers--and I've met so many awesome people online through my postings and readings on ff-dot-net. I can also add that I'm thankful for all the nice things all the people out there in Fanfiction Land have been kind enough to bestow on my writings. Bless you all!!)
- Anime (Okay, I'm entitled to one wholly selfish thing on this list! I love the stuff!!)
I'm thankful that I have so many things to be thankful for, so many so that I can't list them all here. All things considered, I've got it pretty good. I've got an awesome family who loves me, great friends, my health, my hobbies...yeah, there are bumps in the road, and sometimes I want to scream and throw things. Sometimes I cry, sometimes I laugh, and sometimes I have to force myself to smile even though I feel like I'm falling apart. I am who I am, and after all the time it took me to accept that, you'd better believe that I'm going to enjoy it!! May everyone else do the same.
Happy National Eat-Till-You-Burst Day, everyone!!
Much love,
~ Candy-chan ^.^
The purpose of life is not to go to the grave in a perfectly well-preserved body. The goal of life should be to summersault in sideways, bruised and battered, with confetti in your hair and a martini in your hand, while you scream, "That was fuckin' AWESOME!!"
