Okay, people I went to high school/college with know that housekeeping is not my strongest suit. In fact, housekeeping and I are rather like sugar and vinegar. DO NOT MIX. Unless you're making a sauce for a Chinese food dish, in which case you must also add soy sauce and various other things to make it tasty against all laws of nature. Otherwise, NO. I tend to exist in a state of organized chaos--I usually know where things are, but the things are stacked three feet high on the desk, and the thing I need is on the very bottom of the pile.

You get the idea.

Well, people who have ever spent any time in my living space, PREPARE TO BE AMAZED. Because as I said earlier, I got bitten by the cleaning bug this morning. It happens every once in a while--where I just suddenly am motivated to clean and stuff gets done. The result?

My kitchen and bathroom have been scrubbed from top to bottom. They are freakin' SPARKLING. Counters are clear of all detritus (I goed tu colege to lurn big werds!), all surfaces have been wiped, floors have been vacuumed and mopped, rugs have been taken outside and shaken, the place has been dusted and a partridge in a pear tree.

And no, I don't have pictures *sigh* I'm sort of hoping that it'll bite again tomorrow so I can do the living room and finish picking up the office. And also do a load of laundry. That'd be kind of awesome. Then I can say I've had a truly productive weekend.

I also finished up two projects: the scarves for those couple of students. Actually, the one still needs the fringe. The other is currently around my neck. No real reason. It just is. I'll go finish the turquoise one after I finish typing this entry.

Oh, and if you haven't heard the Broadway recording of The Little Mermaid, I think I might recommend it. I'm still listening to it--got it yesterday and listened to a few of my favorite songs while I was driving home from work. I'm already in love with "Her Voice" and "If Only" because I do have a weakness for slow songs and ballads.

I will say this: I give Sherie Renee Scott (who I adored as Amneris in Aida) some props for playing Ursula. Because "Poor Unfortunate Souls" is my favorite song from the original movie. And she gives it a good effort, though she is no Pat Carroll. Those are some big shoes to fill, after all.

Aaaaaand tomorrow is Lurker Day. For those who are going, "WTF is Lurker Day?", it is a holiday created by [profile] socchan (with whom I need to hang out at some point). The original concept post about it is here. The idea behind it is that it's a day for lurkers (people who sneak around and read, but are too shy to comment) to pop up and say "Y HALO THAR!" And then if you want to sneak back into the shadows, that's cool too.

I'll be posting some ficcage over on [personal profile] candyfics and making a post here. Got a couple of places to delurk as well. It's just a fun day to comment on people's journals and say hello like the fun people we all are.
