A successful day!
Oct. 30th, 2008 09:11 pmWell, I am now in my late-early twenties :D I dunno, I've come to the conclusion that twenty-three is sort of an awkward in-between age. Ya know, it wants to be a grown-up, and it's trying on Mommy's shoes and things and trying to act like an adult, but it's not quite there yet...
...I should take up drinking. I'd probably make more sense ^^;;
But as for it being a good day? In a word: yes. In many words: hells yes and a half. Accomplished today:
~ Got my driver's license renewed. I now have one of those pretty horizontal ones that signifies that O SNAP I'M LEGAL. (In Iowa, if you're under twenty-one your license is vertical. Once you reach the Age of Legality, you can get a horizontal one. Also, we got a new license design in the time since I last renewed. It is prettier now, and less of an eyesore in my wallet.)
~ Bought the first part of my sister's Christmas present, and the necessary things to make the second part. I also priced a couple of things for Mom's present. I've had Dad taken care of for months.
~ Was linked to this, which is just plan awesome *loves on
ytak*
~ Put gas in my car. I got just under eleven gallons (like, 10.980 or something), and it cost me $21.74. That's right, folks--gas here has dropped to under two dollars a gallon. A dollar and ninety-seven cents, to be exact :D
~ Went to the store and bought a few things for Mom, as well as picking up my birthday cake. Every year, the store sends me a coupon for a free quarter-sheet cake on my birthday, so I get that, and that's my birthday cake. This year's model was chocolate, with white and yellow frosting and a red rose ^__^
~ Had a late lunch with
bishonen_girl and
kaitodoushi, which was all sorts of awesome. I think we have a new regular place to go, because it was awesome (The Golden Corral--it opened a week ago). Jackson provided us all with mucho entertainment. But
bishonen_girl? YOU ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO PICK THE TABLE AGAIN. EVER. She picked one in, like, the furthest possible corner of the restaurant.
~ Got yarnses to make stuffs ^_^
~ Was sent to McDonald's by my father for sammiches for dinner because they were having their Halloween celebration at the home where Mom works, so she wasn't going to be home. When she got home, we had cake. They gave me my present last night--season four of Numb3rs, YOU ARE MINE!
~ Posted a bunch of fics. I finally got most of my backlog up on ff-dot-net, and tossed some new stuff up on
candyfics. Still have comments to catch up on, ehehe... *FAILS AT LIFE* Will do that eventually...
~ NaNo starts on Saturday, whee!
So...yup. That's the majority of my day in a nutshell. I'm in a really good mood :D And now I think I shall scurry off to engage in further yarny projects because I've been so busy writing lately that I haven't had much time for them and gods have I missed them!
*scurry scurry*
