The remains of a day...

I'm currently squinting at the screen because I don't have my contacts in. Had to take them out for the lovely surgery. Yup, the wisdom teeth are gone, there is a mild discomfort in my mouth at the moment, and I'm on the mush diet for the next couple of days so I don't dry-socket myself.
I had every intention of rolling out of bed and going in for the surgery in my pj's, and then coming home and going right back to bed. Well, the appointment was at eight-thirty, so Daddy woke me up at SIX-THIRTY IN THE FREAKIN' MORNING!! I put on my "not happy" face.
Went to the doctor, they hooked me up to some machines and gave me some lovely drugs that made Auntie Candy-chan feel very floaty. Then they hooked up the IV (have I mentioned I hate needles?), and the doc said "Whatever you do, don't fall asleep." I'm thinking, "Yeah, right. Goodnight!" And I was out in probably thirty seconds or so. I vaguely remember sort of coming to and feeling them dig around in my mouth without actually feeling it--they had me nice and Novocained. Daddy read People Magazine to me while we were waintg for the nurse to say I could leave.
Went home and took a nap. The back of my mouth feels really, really weird now, there's these big empty spots. Have not eaten solid food. Want burger...
In other news, checked my grades online today. Was really freaking out about Music History and Lit because I get the WORST test anxiety in that class. I go blank on the tests, and stuff does NOT come back to me. And, of course, it's a class that's only offered every other year, so if I didn't pass it, then I was properly hosed.
checked the grades. I'm running a 3.73 at the moment, without my Human Relations grade, and we figured that I had to get around a sixty on that final to get an A. Straight A's and B's this semester, pretty proud of myself. And I got an A in Methods. How the hell did I get an A in Methods? It's impossible to get an A in Methods!
So yeah, definite pick me up there. I was telling someone that I really hoped the news was good because dammit, I do NOT want bad news when I can't devour anything worth its while in calories for it!
TWO DAYS 'TILL RYANN'S HERE!!!!
*ahem* *does Happy Dances of Evil*
Watched Once Upon a Mattress on Wonderful World of Disney with my family a couple nights ago. They did that for the musical at my high school my senior year--my sister was in it. Every time they needed someone to scream, she got it ^^;; Anyhoo, I loved the irony of having Carol Burnett (who originated the role of Princess Winifred the Woebegone on Broadway and in the original movie) is now playing Queen Aggravaine. My one real complaint (okay, two) was that they cut out the role of the Minstrel entirely, thus removing one of my favorite songs ("The Minstrel, the Jester, and I"), and they cut down the role of the King to almost nothing. The aptly-named King Sextimus is supposed to be as funny and perverted as they come. While he was funny, we lost the whole "chasing servant girls" thing. That made me sad. But otherwise, it was a pretty good adaptation.
Well, I'm gonna go zonk for a bit. Will be on tomorrow to post ficcage.
Much love,
